Default Josh Baker - 6'4'' guard from Hutchinson CC listed Loyola in top 3

Has Rutgers, Loyola Chicago, and Houston in his top 3.

Considered to be the best 3pt shooter in juco this year.

Any word on if Moser is also recruiting him to OU?

As a sophomore:
16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists.. 42% from 3

As a freshman:
14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists... 48% from 3 (75-154 from 3)

Good size and can always use another shooter if the spot is available.

I'd take him over the Robinson kid, but probably not over Thompson (who I don't think is coming).

The only thing that would change my mind on that is looking at the roster breakdown by year. If we're getting stacked up on any given year, I might be inclined to take one guy over another to spread that out a bit.

His three point shooting alone might make him worth a closer look. 75 of 154 (48%) his freshman season, 42% as a sophomore. Those are impressive numbers, fairly consistent too.

Not sure if Porter wants him or not but if we only have 1 guard spot left and we are going to wait on Bryce he probably should commit elsewhere. It is nice to not have enough roster spots for every one on the radar after how it was looking on Friday.

Went to UNLV

Heard Jaxon isn’t being recruited by Ou anymore. But not a regular reliable source.

Bummer. I thought he'd be a great fit for us, but if not, was hoping he'd end up at Houston.

UNLV is quietly putting together a talented roster.

Do they think weíre getting somebody better? Do we still think the last two are for wings?

Not my best guy but Iím not a Jax fan.

I think theyíll take a guard (BT hopefully)

And another forward.

Just my opinion. Groves x2 plus Rick doesnít do it for me. I know hill can defend.

I think we'll be fine at the 5 spot. Groves, Chargois, and Issanza can cover that position with J Groves and Hill filling in as necessary in small ball lineups.

I'm more worried about the 4 spot. Hill is a good player and will play his butt off, and J Groves is a solid back-up but I'm not certain we have a chance to be elite with Hill and J Groves as our only players at the 4.

What have you seen from Issanza that makes you believe he can cover anything other than a spot at the far end of the bench?

Depth at the five looks like:

Groves / chargois / hill / j groves / issanza

Heíll be fine as the 5th center. Someone has to hold down that 13t spot on the bench.

I seem to recall Porter saying something about wanting to play with four guards and a big. (Or something to that effect.) Admittedly I didnít see much of Robinson in high school, but if he can come close to living up to his reputation as a shooter Iíd like to see him in C&C. I know we have Gibson but Iíd like another shooter on the squad.

Robinson is not super athletic and doesn't have a strong build, which negates being 6’7”. Plays a little smaller than his size. I think porter wants to play with a 4 that is offensively a guard but who can defend a 4.

All fair points. Maybe Iím putting too much stock in his shooting potential. Hard not to be enticed by it when we seemingly donít have many shooters.

Moserís done a nice job stocking the roster with transfers and I like what weíve brought in. Just canít help but feel weíre going to have struggles on the offensive end. Landing Thompson could certainly help address some of those concerns though. Hoping for the best.

Hill and J. Groves are not going to play the 5. Especially Hill. That isn't going to happen.

He did last year at times and did a fine job in spot duty. I donít expect him to even average 1 minute per game at the 5, but foul trouble, injuries, matchups ... heíll log a few minutes there as will j groves. Just saying we have enough bodies to man the 5.

T groves and chagrois will average 39.5 minutes per game at the 5 spot between them.
