He’s going to Kentucky or North Carolina. But if he ends up at OU, that would be epic.

If you guys don't like the way Harmon and his family are handling things, you want no part of the alexander family

Bruce pearl going a little crazy filling that roster in the transfer portal. And maybe a year of covid has him wanting to stay closer to home. Or Kentucky started tampering. Or Bryce leaving Kansas opened up the spot he wanted there.

Desi Sills from Arkansas transferred to Auburn recently. Play the same position. Maybe he was promised a starting spot and didn't want to compete for playing time?

Why is this so common with college basketball? Kyler's dad is the only thing close to involvement that I can remember with football...Trae's dad I know was/is very involved with Trae. But why?

I think what treva was getting at is why do you see it in basketball more than football

being involved so the kid is guided with true motive is one thing...some of these folks are just crazy...

believe me it starts WAY YOUNG....like 4th/5th grade. I've seen enough competitive ball leagues at that age.

(I'm sure you are well aware of this but just point out...it gets INSANE)

Yep, there's millions of reasons to be involved.

Absolutely be involved. There is a difference between involved and nutty. Go watch these folks at games.

After he commits I’ll tell you my favorite stories.

Rayford is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. Knew him for years in the medical sales arena and just a great guy.

My grandsons are in the 5th and 1st grade. They played club soccer for about 3 years before they switched to rec league basketball. One of the reasons they switched was the soccer coach, who was a parent of one of the kids. The coach was obsessed with soccer to the point that 2 years ago he started home-schooling his kids so they could practice more. His ultimate goal for himself is to be able to go to Europe and coach soccer. He sees his kids, who are good players, as a way to get his foot in the door. He was much too intense and negative for kids in that age group.

If he's still adamant about playing point not sure how it would work at OU. This year the Duke transfer, and next year he'd have to compete with Bijan and the new KC kid.

Don't get me wrong, I admire Rayford as well...Follow him on Twitter. He's a really good dude and is pretty objective when talking about Trae/NBA. I get the involvement...by all means be involved with your kid.

It's the next level as a quasi-agent during HS and college a la Harmons/Alexanders/random uncle that seems over the line to me. And I think it even hinders the athlete's ability to grow and think for themselves.
