The Sooners have picked up their third commitment for the Class of 2013 in 6-foot-10 center Keshaun Hamilton from Labette Community College in Kansas.

The sophomore-to-be averaged seven points per game and seven rebounds in 14 appearances as a freshman last season.

Hamilton, originally from Palatka, Fla., cited Oklahoma’s academics as one of the key reasons he chose Oklahoma over bedlam rival Oklahoma State.

The big-bodied post also liked OU’s team chemistry.

“They have great communication between one another,” Hamilton told OUHoops.com Monday night. “They are a family that has each others’ backs, they work hard on and off the court, and most of all they love having good times.”

Hamilton expects to make an impact right away.

“I think I will bring a lot of power, a lot of hard work, and dedication. I will be determined to get to the top with my soon to be teammates.”

Hamilton joins Edmond Memorial point guard Jordan Woodard and fellow junior college post player Dominique Elliott of Trinity Valley as members of Oklahoma’s Class of 2013.
