Gilleispie sure has stunk it up at Kentucky. No excuses to losing to teams like VMI.

I watched the last 7 minutes of this game (while I was flipping back and forth)...Kentucky looked awful, and VMI was so tired they couldn't even get a rebound...Great victory for a small school, but obviously a horrible loss for Kentucky...Anyone think Daniel Orton is reconsidering his decision?

I believe VMI is the school that generally preaches shooting lots of threes, fast breaks, and pressing a lot. I remember following them all year in the box scores because of their novelty one year, then in conference tourney they went strict 2-3 zone with no pressing and it fooled everyone and they almost beat Winthrop in the conference championship.

I am also a Kentucky fan, and even though i wouldnt have said they would lose to VMI i knew this would be a tough year for them...

They lost there PG and leader in Bradley and their best scorer from the perimeter in Crawford...no way Patterson can do it all by himself...

The score is very surprising, you just dont usually see that from Billy coached teams...he is going to have to get it together soon because they wont take that in Wildcat land...

I watched some of that game and although Kentucky has some issues, I came away very impressed with VMI. The thing I noticed about them right away was that they had several guys at different positions that could handle the ball well. I've always thought that this is a key element in having a very good ball team.

No matter how impressive VMI looked, they should never beat Kentucky. Ever. Gillispie could get on the hotseat really fast if he doesn't improve the team. Kentucky fans and alumni aren't patient.
