Schedules 2010-11
I don't know if anyone will use this or not, but I'm putting it here in case anyone is interested. I'm collecting women's schedules for the upcoming season, so I'll just list the links here as well. I'll continue to add links here as schedules become available.
* Indicates that only the non-conference schedule has been released. When the conference schedules are also published, I'll remove the asterisks from the links.
As is frequently the case at this time of year, these schedules will see revisions and alterations in a lot of cases before the season actually starts.
The Big 12 was the first conference to release all of their complete schedules. When the television packages are finalized, you can expect some of the games to change dates.

A&M looks pretty good too and they will have to know how to pack their bags.

Well, they do visit UConn & they played Tennessee in Nashville last year - I don't think they are ducking anybody . . .

Re: Schedules 2010-11
OSU appears to be heading for a decent non-conference schedule. So far, I know Duke, ORU, and Wisconsin are on the schedule. Duke owns the #1 recruiting class for this year.

Re: Schedules 2010-11
From the schedules that I've seen released to date, Duke has by far the toughest schedule, which is something different for them. I wouldn't be surprised if Duke ended up with the toughest non-conference schedule this year, because it looks considerably tougher than anybody's last year.
Last year's RPI rankings for Duke's opponents this year:
Code:
103 BYU
38 Southern California
74 Auburn
81 Western Kentucky
93 Pittsburgh
119 Charlotte
35 James Madison
30 Wisconsin
6 Texas A&M
12 Oklahoma State
11 Xavier
33 Temple
19 Kentucky
1 Connecticut

Re: Schedules 2010-11
OSU should not lose more than 1 or 2 games at the most by the time they enter conference play. Duke will beat them and ORU might.

If they play New Mexico (which would be their only true road game) then I could see them losing to the Lobos at The Pit. That's a fairly tough place to play, and UNM should be improved this year.

Re: Schedules 2010-11
I hope OSU only loses 1 or 2 games. I am not sure how the youth of the team will respond. OSU lost Riley & Cunningham to graduation, over half the scoring. UALR returns Chastity Reed, Wisconsin has more returning than OSU.
It will be an interesting year for OSU. I think the ups & downs will be extreme with a team with 6 true freshman, 3 sophomores, 1 RS freshman, 1 Jr, & 2 Srs. It will be very interesting. Most of the games are winnable. And @ home, I think OSU has a decent chance of winning most of the games. However, I will not consider it bad if they have 4 losses in non-conf, as long as the team shows progress throughout the non-conf season.

Re: Schedules 2010-11
For me, OSU is a real enigma this year. In the post-AR era, I have no idea what kind of offense they will run. It looks to me like a radical change for the cowgirls and the outcome certainly is an unknown . . .

Re: Schedules 2010-11
Certain people believe OSU will have a style of game comparable to the 2nd half of the 1st round NCAA tourney game against UT-Chatt. If they can keep up the intensity for 40 minutes, 30+ games, it could work out very well. But OSU will also give up some really easy press breaker layups with that style. It will be interesting to see the Cowgirls this year.
Defensively there will be major improvement. Offensive will be an adventure.

If a team is really good defensively, that will keep you in a lot of games right to the end.

Re: Schedules 2010-11
IMO OSU will be a better team than they were last season. They proved they can win without Riley at the NCAA Tournament. The other senior they graduated will be the bigger loss, but they have recruited some good players and perhaps they will play more as a team rather than depending on one ball hog.

Re: Schedules 2010-11
I've added or noted as updated from non-conference only to full schedules for a whole bunch of teams today, around 44.
Rather than continue to add them at the bottom and then in the original post, I'll just add to the original post from now on. It's just too much labor to add them twice.
And I think I'll delete the intermediate posts, since now they just represent clutter on this topic.

Re: Schedules 2010-11
I just added Missouri's full schedule, making the Big 12 the first conference to release full schedules for all teams.

Thank you! There's a lot of work to it, but it helps me to get the "big picture" each year.
The big scheduling trends this year? Most of the BCS schools are softening their schedules this year, as compared to recent years where there was a lot of competition for the toughest schedules. Not so much this time.
And teams across the board are scheduling more official games. I'm seeing a lot more mid-majors scheduling 29 or even 30 games, and that used to be pretty rare. This year in the Big 12, Baylor, Iowa State, Nebraska, OU, Texas and Texas Tech are all scheduling 30 games. The other six teams have scheduled 29.
That makes a total of 162 non-conference games for the Big 12, plus 96 conference games, and 11 conference tournament games.
I predict that the "average" Big 12 team will win 19 games this year...

Re: Schedules 2010-11
I'm now up to 174 full schedules and 32 schools that have only released non-conference schedules.
The Missouri Valley joins the Big 12 as conferences for whom I have every complete schedule, and a number of conferences are close to joining those two.
I also added links to the women's basketball pages of all the 32 conferences, just because.
