In case anyone wanted an update, it looks like Anderson convinced him to stay.

Rotnei Clarke expected to stay at Arkansas

New Arkansas basketball coach Mike Anderson says guard Rotnei Clarke, believed to have recently requested a transfer, is expected to stay with the Razorbacks for his 2011-12 senior season.

“ ... I met with Rotnei and his family," Anderson told the Hawgs Illustrated website. “They are fine. It's going to be fine.

“We went over things. I explained that we don't play run and gun. We run and execute. Rotnei is a student of the game."

At Verdigris High School, Clarke became Oklahoma’s career scoring leader and led the Cardinals to the 2008 Class 3A championship. Through Clarke’s three seasons in Fayetteville, the Razorbacks are 46-47 overall and 16-32 in Southeastern Conference play, with no postseason appearances.

An All-SEC second-team selection this season, Clarke is among the more accurate 3-point shooters in the nation and has a career scoring average of 14.2 points.

Last week, a source told the Tulsa World that Clarke, subsequent to the March 13 firing of Arkansas coach John Pelphrey, submitted a request to be released from his scholarship, but the request was denied. Clarke was told that the process could not occur until after a new coach had been hired.

On March 23, Anderson left Missouri to become the head man at Arkansas. Anderson was an assistant on Nolan Richardson’s Razorback staff in 1985-2002.

Because he wants to play in a system that fits him? Because he is a great shooter, and doesn't want to be the 3rd or 4th option on offense? I don't get it. The kid isn't trying to get 25 shots a game. A good coach will find this kid shots. He can make them.

His dad can cry all he wants, but Rotnei stands around way to much. If he spent more time working to get open like a Richard Hamilton or Ray Allen, he would get more shots. Since that's obviously all he cares about. He and his dad.

You just sound like you have no clue what your talkin about. Have you ever watched rotnei play, seriously? hes as unselfish as he can be on the court, thats why he not only is a leading scorer, but leader in assists too. Get your facts right.

Do you really believe you can police the internet and only allow pro Clarke talk?

People are created differently and allowed to have different opinions on things. That is one of the great things about people in my opinion. Its fun to debate, I don't get why you believe everybody should be a mindless drone and be in love with Clarke.

In the end noOUfan you are only making yourself look foolish and drawing more hate onto Clarke. The more you complain about the way people talk about Rotnei and call other peoples names, the more it will happen.

Did you join just to argue about Rotnei? You won't find many here who care about him because of how his recruitment went, and the ordeal with Willie Warren. If you are looking for Rotnei praise, then maybe you should log onto gohogs.com, or heypigs.com This is a Sooner board, and rotnei clarke is not beloved here, so ........SORRY.

Rotnei Clarke and his band of lackeys remind me of the Mitch Mustain crew. Why is it that the spoiled, delusional crybaby families always end up at Arkansas?
