Default Any word on how Garang and Issanza are progressing?

I’ve read where Garang is a great athlete and Issanza has put on weight.
I’m wondering if anyone knows of their progress as players?

It would be nice to get a few minutes per night from a 6’9 athletic forward and a 7’1” center ....

last thing i have heard (others should know more) is that Garang continues to work at the wing and is slowly improving

It's a great question and one that i wish someone could expound on even more. Like, do the coaches really believe they have starters in these two guys eventually? They are young. Thanks Boulder for your answer. Both guys have elite size, but i haven't heard anything that says they'll be in the rotation this year. Both appear to have gotten stronger so of that is what was holding them back then maybe they'll get some good minutes. It appears they are athletic but I hope they can play basketball too. Sounds weird to say doesn't it.

Coach, I hope you’re wrong this time. That would mean we’ve had three “promising“ bigs on our roster in the last two years and none of them have been ready to contribute? Merritt occupied a scholarship while he redshirted last season, only to enter the transfer portal without ever seeing the floor.

So, are you saying Garang and Issanza may be on the same development path? If so, that leaves Iwuakor as our only reliable back up for Manek and Kuath this season.

I’m saying redshirt freshmen are hard to play when 9 guys are better than them in front.

Hill has worked hard to be able to defend 4 men. (A lot the time 4 men are wings)

Hopefully soon we will be able to attend practice again and we can get some of the reporters back in the gym

How can we start the season on time if we’re not practicing?

Heard yesterday AG was making shots and looking good but developed a minor injury which is holding him back.
Rick will only be able to help a few minutes a game as a back up.

Issanza looks like a dude that could physically dominate a game. Hopefully he puts all the pieces together before he graduates.

Do you think Anyang will get on the court this year realistically?

Coach knows more than me. I would also expect not.

Starters my guess—-

Harmon, Gibson, Reaves, Manek, Kuath.

Alondes, Jalen, Iwuakor as your top 8 and Phipps plays in spots.

Hard to play more than 8.

Hard to play more than 8.
With COVID protocols this year, I would bet we play the 9 and 10 guys on occasion.
