Wv/osu
WV, just like against us on Saturday, was down 19 and they have come all the way back. McBride has just now hit two 3s in a row.....and they now lead OSU by 4 with just over 2 minutes left.

I started watching late, but with this camera angle, I'm afraid I might get a nosebleed.

Yep....or vertigo. WV holds them off for the win. Pokes already have two home losses....although I'm not sure that "home-court advantage" is much of an advantage for anyone this year.

OSU blows 19 point lead. Guess we aren’t the only ones who do that.

I couldn’t help but be a little upset when we blew a huge lead on our home floor. Although, as stormspencer said, there really is no home court advantage this season.
But I couldn’t be more proud of the way our players fought through their slump to beat WVU. It feels even better now that we know the Pokes lost to the same team we beat two days ago!

Bryce is out 2-4 weeks. Not a huge lose for them but injuries suck.

The data is pretty incredible on this. Home teams are only winning 55% of games played this year, which is down from 61% just last year. The lowest year kenpom has on record is 59% for home teams. That is a substantial drop. Nearly all other statistics (ppg, shooting percentage, etc.) are fairly in line with a year ago. But the home court advantage has dropped substantially.

Tougher to influence officials, away teams sometimes turn the ball over more, role players usually play a lot better at home given the crowds energy.

Re: Wv/osu
Well, one thing this year will give us in sports is a quantitative look at home field advantage and how important it really is

Re: Wv/osu
Toby Rowland had a tweet on this: "The road team is now 11-4 in Big 12 play after WV’s Monday night comeback at OSU. College basketball was the biggest home court advantage in sports, but not this year. No fans...no advantage."
But I thought a follow-up comment was also interesting: "I believe without any empirical evidence that it has impacted officiating as well. No big call to hear the roar of the home crowd."

It seems like there have been more technical fouls called, too. I wonder if it's because the officials can actually hear what the players are saying.
