We are tremendously underrated right now. We are basically the same team as last year that was probably going to be ranked in the 25-30 range heading into the tournament. More experience would suggest that they would even be improved YoY.

We failed to receive a vote in either poll. It took Austin Reaves morphing into Superman to prevent us from losing five of our last seven.

I stand corrected. Thank you for fact checking me. I still stand by my assertion that we are vastly underrated. This is a sweet 16 team.

I have abiding respect for 04 and what he said wasn't factually wrong, but it was just one of several ways to present the "truth" about last season's home stretch.

One could choose, for example. to cite the fact that we won three of our last four, including two road wins and two wins against ranked teams (and the loss was a one-point defeat that can surely be adjudged as much a "fluke" as our win in Fort Worth two games later).

Or one could state that we won five of our last nine, with three of those wins coming against ranked teams and two of the losses coming against teams ranked in the top 3 nationally.

Given the above, seven games seems a random number to choose as a way of assessing the 2019-20 Sooners, a team that earned the #3 seed in the conference tourney that never happened. And I would argue that "if not fors" should not be given any more weight or consideration than the "ifs and buts" that are generally ridiculed when offered following a tough or disappointing loss.

ESPN's power rankings has us at 13 behind Bama (#7), Tech (#11), WVU (#12) but ahead of UT (#15)

When we lost a very tight one at Tech, with two of our starters out, we dropped a few spots the following week. When WVU lost a very tight one at home to OU, they moved up a spot.

The other good news, though, is that we're #10 in the coaches poll -- our first time in that top 10 this season, I think.

Our first 8 games before we got Harkless are hurting our computer rankings. If you look at Jeff Sagarin's RECENT ranking, OU is ranked 9.
