I don't get that KSU rating... I think they are gonna be pretty salty. They've got an excellent point guard and an excellent center... If you are really good at the 1 and the 5 spots, I don't know how you can be that bad.

Their PG had 26 against A&M, 17 against Tech, 22 against Texas, 18 against Baylor, 23 against TCU, 9 points and 9 assists against Oklahoma, etc... He was playing very high level basketball.

They can shoot.... they've got guards... They've got a ton of experience... they've got a point guard who could be a great player. I don't see how this team finishes 9th.

All 3 guards are double-figure scorers, and you've got a combo forward and a true center.

PG: Nijel Pack
-All Big 12 Rookie Team. Averaged 13 a game on 40% 3pt shooting. One of the best freshman seasons in KSU history. Finished his rookie campaign ranking in the top-10 in 9 freshman categories in school history, including second in 3-point field goals made (60), third in 3-point field goal percentage (40.5), fifth in assists (91), ninth in total points (305) and 10th in games started (24), minutes played (806), field goals made (109) and attempted (261) and steals (28).

SG: Mike McGuirl
All Big 12 Honorable Mention. Averaged 11.8 points on 35.6 percent shooting (112-of-315), including 31.6 percent (60-of-190) from 3-point range, with 3.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game… Connected on 76.3 percent (58-of-76) from the free throw line.

SG: Mark Smith
Transfer from Missouri. Has 40 career double-digit scoring games, including 19 games with 15 or more points and five games of 20 or more points… Scored in double figures in 34 games at Missouri, including four 20-point efforts. Averaged 9.7 points on 37.2 percent shooting (80-of-215), including 31.5 percent (40-of-127) from 3-point range, with 3.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game… Connected on 76.5 percent (52-of-68) from the free throw line.

F: Ismael Massoud
Transfer from Wake Forest. Averaged 8.3 points on 34.1 percent shooting (58-of-170), including 33.6 percent (36-of-107) from 3-point range, with 3.4 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.4 steals per game… Connected on 73.2 percent (30-of-41) from the free throw line. Saw action in all 18 ACC games with 5 starts… Averaged 8.3 points on 34.3 percent shooting (48-of-140), including 33.7 percent (29-of-86) from 3-point range, in ACC play with 3.5 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per game… Connected on 70.6 percent (24-of-34) from the free throw line.

C: Davion Bradford (7'0'' 270)
Registered the second-highest field goal percentage (62.1/90-of-145) in school history, including the highest ever by a freshman... Averaged 7.7 points on 62.1 percent shooting (90-of-145) with 4.3 rebounds per game.. Scored 14 points on 3 occasions in Big 12 play, including in his conference debut at Iowa State (12/15/20), vs. TCU (1/2/21) and at No. 4/4 Texas (1/16/21)Ended the season with double-digit scoring games in 5 of the last 8 games.

Probably true in this case.... but I think Pack and Bradford showed enough as true freshman.

I think OU could Sampson-like surprise in Moser's first year playing great defense. Does Prince Fowler have any eligibility left?

I know we have a lot of new pieces this year and a new coach, but I'd be pretty disappointed in a 7th place finish. I feel like we are going to be a better team than that.

They are good pieces and I agree they have a chance to be good players. But I think even KSU media members tend to think the team will likely be below the middle tier teams in the conference.

The GOAT.

Not really (Buddy for me - too young for Wayman), but man Minor was fun to watch as a kid.

Though I think we will finish higher than 7th, and therefore this poll has us too low, I can see how an objective person would have us at least at the 6th spot. What I might disagree with in this poll is the positioning of TTU, as I would have OSU and WVa above them.

However, hard to argue against the top 3, and I think the bottom 3 are pretty well set as well. I think teams 4-7 are pretty evenly matched and could see us as high as 4th or we could finish in the 7th spot if the other three come out and play lights out compared to us.

A lot of new players and obviously a new coach and system makes it hard to predict. Regardless of preseason speculation, I think we will be a team come late February that comes together and finishes the season stronger than we have the last few years.

In any case, I am excited to see this season unfold. It could be one of the best 1-7 the Big XII has seen in a while.

I think we’ll finish 4-5th. Ahead of tech and wvu. Even with Osu.

Can’t judge moser on this team. It has some flaws.

Thrown together in 2 months from the portal. They’ll be guys transfer out.

I except 2 more 2022 this month. 1 tomorrow if all goes as planned.

If OU finishes 4-5th, I don't think anyone will judge Coach Moser harshly.

Yea no kidding.... Top 4 finish would be considered an incredible season in this league for a first year coach.
