Part of it is the media age we live in, compared to Reagan for example, but most of it is his narcissist egotistical desire to be at front and center. That is not a swipe, just fact he loves to be in front of the camera and get the attention.

Bush's moment in the rubble wasn't an address to the country, it was through a megaphone to first responders. Not that I approved of all his political ideology, but I think of one of Obama's most powerful moments was his White House briefing right after Sandy Hook. Obama was a media attention hound too. Clinton in OKC.

Those moments lead the spirit of our country, not necessarily motivational or inspire. But they move our country in a direction, whether intended or not.
Trump could literally jump on a grenade thrown by terrorists in a kindergarten class of transgender children with a black homosexual atheist socialist school teacher and die and the liberals would cheer and not say another word other then good riddance.. so you're not recognizing just how much politics have become polarized. Liberals want to end the constitutional electoral college simply bc Hillary got beat down... it doesn't matter what trump would do for the most part.

You can't deal in good faith with someone [media, dems, deep state] dealing with you in bad faith..

As you pointed out, he has delivered on some things and others not so much yet. However, I do believe it is unprecedented the way he has been attacked and scrutinized from day 1....far more than any other president in my lifetime (considerably more than even Reagan or Nixon). It is a constant daily barrage of criticism (some warranted, some not) especially in this plugged-in, social media world. So using that as our filter, I think he has accomplished quite a bit.

As time went on and the Republicans became more and more conservative on social issues I wasn't as in tune with them as much. But, I didn't want to be a one issue voter and conventional wisdom said you needed to be a Republican to have someone to vote for or against in the primaries so I stayed.

By the 1980s, I worked for a Fortune 500 company. The employees at my company were treated well and what was good for business was good for me, right? So I stayed a Republican. Fast forward a few years and things began to change. Pension plans were frozen but unless you were making significantly more than I made, you couldn't afford to put enough into your 401K to make up the difference. Premium payments on our health insurance went up and up but the amount they would pay shrank. Raises became smaller and smaller and then went away altogether. The company sold my part of the company and we were shifted from company, to company, to company - 6 different times. Each time, the bigwigs made a boatload of money and the rank and file employees got the shaft. Even so, I stayed a Republican - even though I voted for fewer and few Republicans - until about 5 years ago.

There were a few straws that broke the camel's back:

1) The constant strangulation of the Oklahoma public schools by the Oklahoma legislature.
2) The emergence of people like Sarah Palin in Republican power circles.

I'm not sure if I've posted it here, but I loathe Donald Trump. I've voted in every Presidential election since 1968 and he is the only candidate that has run that has absolutely no redeeming qualities - no integrity, no honor - nothing.

You say his policies have been good? Maybe if you had a lot invested in the stock market he is. But if you can't afford those luxuries, he hasn't been good for you. If you want more air pollution and more water pollution, he's your man. If you are a racist who has privately fumed at what you call political correctness, he's your man. If you are a guy who wants to grab women who don't want to be grabbed and suffer no consequences, he's your man. If you don't like public education you love the person he put in charge. I could go on but you get the message. History will look back on DT as the worst American President by far.
Lol dumb af. A vice president pick was a straw? Hahaha VP is so unimportant.. you must not politic

I don't really care what the rest of the world thinks. One, he's putting a lot of their countries in their place. Something we should have been doing decades ago. Two, a lot of those countries are far more liberal than the US has been historically. Of course they are going to think some of our politics, and some of the things Trump is trying to accomplish, "aren't good."

Doesn't mean Americans feel that way. Check out his approval ratings. Doesn't really support the "rumor" that Americans overall aren't happy with him. Before this virus he was a lock to be re-elected.

Guys, you're never gonna get though. However, by all means, don't stop trying. This is all highly entertaining.

f I could give advice to the planet, it would be; don't marry for looks alone, going either way, and I'll tell you why. In a few years, if Barbara's b**** start to sag too much, there's a place you can go where they can just lift 'em right back up to where they were. And they can point the n***** wherever they want 'em. You can actually go to a t**** bar, pick out a set of t****** and say, "I want those t****** on that woman right there." If her belly gets too big and she don't wanna work it off, you can go get a tummy tuck- they'll give you a belly that looks like a cheerleader. You know, if your eyes start to go bad, you can have Lasik surgery and they can give you 20/20 vision at any age. If your hearing starts to fail, they can put a device in your ear that'll make you able to hear as good as you could the day you were born. But let me tell you something, folks...you can't fix stupid. There's not a pill you can take, there's not a class you can go to. Stupid is fo-evah.-Ron White

Good morning.

I spent most of the day yesterday helping plan drive-up testing stations at the clinic in Tulsa and the hospital in Muskogee. The plan is to have them operational starting this weekend. You would think those would be simple to plan and implement. They are not. At this point we are expecting the hospitals to become Covid-19 facilities, and not much else. I feel for the nursing staff because they are basically going to be locked in isolation wards with incredibly infectious patients, and we ALREADY don't have PPE. You can't find an n-95 mask anywhere. You guys have probably already seen the nurses in New York using makeshift PPE made from garbage bags. That's about our starting point. We can't get testing in a timely manner. We have been sending out specimen to OSDH but they are completely overwhelmed, they can't keep up with the volume. We started sending to a private national lab, but the turnaround time has been an amazingly bad 7-8 days. The best case scenario would be to test them here. We have the instrumentation, but the reagent packs are ordered on a national basis and will be doled out according to need. Trust me when I tell you that we will be far down the list. Our policy so far has been to order a respiratory panel, a PCR test that screens for about 10 respiratory pathogens such as Flu A, Flu B, RSV, rhinovirus, etc. and then if that is negative send a specimen off for a Coronavirus test. The problem with this is that we only have about 70 of those panels left, and no prospect of getting more.

This is going to get much much worse. I can't give you specifics about any particular patient, but let me just say this: You can be slightly ill with flu-like symptoms, come to the hospital, get a workup and go home. The next day your situation will have deteriorated so much that you go to the hospital by ambulance are admitted to ICU and die 2 days later.

We are NOT prepared for what is coming.

I poke my head in here every once in awhile and just laugh at the political back and forth. Please, God, stop this virus and bring back sports!

On that note though, i've noticed that the Trump bashing is still at an all time high. LOL. But please, tell me... why isn't any outrage directed at the abject clowns that are Pelosi and Schumer? The republicans are actually trying to help the American people directly related to this crisis with a bill to help, and the buffoons are holding up the aid package because of all the extraneous, meaningless, yet political **** that they are trying to shove into the bill. People need help!

That is the REAL disgrace here. I mean, you've freaking got to be kidding me. When not one word from all you Trump haters about anything related to this, it shows your dishonesty, and you lose any and all credibility with sane, commonsensical people. But continue to have at it!

Because if democrats are called out it gives credence to the other side and they will not have it. There were a couple of comments by a couple of liberal supporters on here who were not enthused with some of the elements that the democrats were trying to force into the bill to help, we Americans, so you have to give those who were honest a pat on the back (save the kicks for later).

Pffft, I have no problem bashing those clowns when they do idiotic things. I am pretty sure I commented on it in this thread. Trying to get all that stuff into this particular bill is total BS. I get that is a normal practice on both sides, but with a bill like this during a national emergency you leave all that crap out.

Wrong. I don't really think anyone liked that move. I think it was one of the worst thing Pelosi has ever tried to do, just because the nature of the bill and the timeline. People have mortgages to pay and they delayed it trying to get legislation passed.

I don't even like that practice at all. For most things, I like the idea of one issue, one bill. That would prevent both sides from trying to cram in all their crap into bills.

None of that changes anything that was said about Trump, but it's really the same argument as before that we have covered several times that you guys have tried to pull.

I can't think of a less productive thing to do with my time. You've made it abundantly clear you don't like Trump, and are essentially restating the same stuff over and over.

As far as nurses using garbage bags for PPEs and it getting to a post on social media, I just watched Gov Cuomo's presser and he said the hospital did have PPE. They even called the hospital and the hospital and head of nurses both confirmed they had plenty of PPE. It appears there is more to the story than the pic, like they were trying to make a statement.

Your last point about the differences in symptoms and how quickly someone can change. I have seen a couple of frontline doctors the last couple of days and they said this was the most serious thing to them. With most viruses, everyone has similar symptoms, or the symptoms follow a common progression. It doesn't appear to be with the virus.

Thanks for the fight on this and stay well.

I would agree this is not the time to falsify things so as to make others look like they are lacking diligence. Just not the time for it.
