Default Rebounding - By Game

OU has only been out-rebounded by 2 teams this year... William & Mary and Stanford. Tied with UTSA and had a slight edge in the exhibition against Southeastern Oklahoma.

Is rebounding overrated in the modern game? Back in the old days, it was basically a requirement for success. Or is this going to be an achilles heel when OU plays bigger, more aggressive teams?

OU: 45
Southeastern Oklahoma: 42
Offensive Boards Given Up: 11

OU: 44
UTSA: 44
Offensive Boards Given Up: 15

OU: 42
Minnesota: 37
Offensive Boards Given up: 9

OU: 42
Oregon State: 37
Offensive Boards Given Up: 11

OU: 35
William & Mary: 40
Offensive Boards Given Up: 3

OU: 42
UMES: 23
Offensive Boards Given Up: 5

OU: 31
Stanford: 51
Offensive Boards Given Up: 15

Oh it definitely means something. It speaks to the effort, toughness, and physicality of your team. It's great that we've outrebounded all those cupcakes(barely) but now we see what happens with a real opponent.

Did I mis hear or did the announcers say that Stanford was picked to finish 10th in the PAC? Yikes!

Don't worry though, somebody on the board last night said they (Stanford) was really, really good.

doesn't it ever get old just trying to one-up people all the time? why can't it just be about the team? carry on smartly.

I'm no basketball genius but it seems that if you're shooting a terribly percentage (like last night), you damn sure better rebound to give yourself more shot opportunities and limit the opponent's opportunities.

I don’t think prognosticators were counting on that freshman to be such a stud.

They’re top 20 RPI. Announcers thought they were going to be good
