LSU broke out of the gate slowly, losing at home to Florida State in their second game. But, after milling around against weak teams, they upset #15 Michigan State, 58-56 in Bimini. Since then, they have looked very good (8-1).

They are paced by 5-7 Jr Khayla Pointer, 6-0 Sr Ayala Mitchell, and 6-5 Jr Faustine Aifuwa, who 39 of the 67 ppg that LSU averages. They average winning by 14 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.

I will watch Baylor/OU at 11:00. But, my heart will be with the OU women's team against LSU. They will need it in this one.

It is a crazy season, and OU might win this one. Tonight, the surprises continue. #2 Louisville was beaten by Ohio State, 67-60 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Florida State beat Michigan State, and NC State beat Maryland. The Big Ten did get some revenge with Michigan beating Syracuse.

Abilene Christian over Tulsa, 73-63.

Florida outscored Prairie View A&M 18-4 in the fourth quarter to get a win, 51-44. Prairie View A&M is probably the worst that OU has played.

You just don't know who will beat who this year. If you haven't noticed, Baylor has lost twice.

It is early, but realtimerpi is beginning to make a little sense. Still some surprises. Abilene Christian is #19. But,

Oregon State
Connecticut
Missouri State
Mississippi State
Indiana
may be right. The only loss in the bunch is Missouri State, and that was to Oregon State. Indiana has beaten South Carolina and Baylor!

There were nine games in in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

The home team won all nine.

I seem to recall Baylor beating Indiana 77-62. And Baylor's record is 8-1.

Two posters apparently missed the two previous posts.

CavalryRoadie posted the correct information.

I had taken my information from realtimerpi which listed it as a Indiana over Baylor win as of the time of posting. That happens to be the top five of realtimerpi in the previous post, which assumes Indiana over Baylor.

When you post something that's inaccurate, simply edit the original post to reflect that.

The point above is the key stat. Think about results in the Big-12:

Home games, the Big-12 is (believe it or not): 42 -3
True Away games, the Big-12 is (believe it or not): 7-6
Neutral Court games, the Big-12 is (believe it or not): 7-7

Six Big-12 teams have played 1 or fewer true road games to date. 3 have yet to play a true road game. How many true road games have we played? SC needs to find a mentor to help with scheduling as a simple start. She may be intelligent in some ways, but apparently lacks common sense or something related to that.

The league is 14-13 .519 in games away from home. OU is 0-3 .000. The rest of the conference .583. Oh well we did not lose all three by double digits or none to a power 5 school.

Yet, for some reason, realtimerpi has OU fourth in the conference. Is it because of SOS? Three conference teams have an SOSS over 300, two more over 200. Yeah, they can beat those teams on the road.

Exactly!!

The conference teams are 14-13 away from home, and 42-3 at home. Anyone who can't see the message sent by those statistics needs to take an elementary school math class.

No surprises here the first three possessions in a row have been turnovers for us. LSU has scored on all possessions. Simpson has missed an open layup as well.

close the quarter out actually pretty well. Up by seven points at the end of the first quarter. This is the team that I saw the first couple games in the wnit tournament. This is a team I thought I'd see all year long. Goes to show you that we play up to our competition. We play better against better teams and horrid against lesser teams. That's got to fall back on the coaching in my opinion.

lemon is not even on the bench today, maybe she got in trouble? Anyone know anything about that?

Arkansas beat K State.

Simpson is having her best day.

OU ahead 59-41 with under 6 minutes in the third qt.

The biggest surprise was that Simpson: 1) took shots, 2)hit them. I don't remember seeing Mandy look like she knew touch was. She was also a force on the boards.

Everyone showed up today. We didn't have anyone who wasn't a contributor. If you were a recruit and watched this team today, you would have been impressed. They passed well, moved well. So many times today they zipped a pass to someone who was open. Don't see that a lot.

LSU shot well, except from three. Finally, a team that doesn't shoot threes well, doesn't shoot them well against OU. I did think LSU looked a little lethargic on the boards. Surprising. They did beat a pretty good Michigan State team.

Western Kentucky 91
Ball State 86

A truly stunning result.
Simpson with more productivity in one game than the entire season.
The only constant is the inconsistency.

She tweeted "When the going gets tough, the tough gets going #RIPDAD" a few days ago. I'm sure that's why she wasn't playing today.
