After what happened at Stillwater Wednesday night, we need a win to restore a semblance of our pride.

Includes some quotes from Jennie that Kelbie is going to redshirt and they are still working on getting her healthy.

I really wonder what her medical issue is.

All that matters is that she gets her health squared away. That’s the important thing. The rest will take care of itself.

But, seizures can mean something very serious, possibly life-threatening that could end her playing career.

I hope she recovers fully! Would be elated to see her on the court again.

OSU up 48-40. Difference is Pokes are 9-18 from 3 including a 40 ft buzzer beater and they have out rebounded us. Got to tighten both of those up in the 2nd half.

Whew! Close. The Cowgirls are solid. Wouldn’t be surprised to see us both in the final 16 come
madness time.

4th quarter the difference was we got hot from 3 and they got cold (we also did a better job of contesting the 3s in the 4th). Fun game to be at and a good crowd at the game. OSU coach did a great job of recruiting good experienced mid major players and they are a solid tournament team. Good win.

This game is the reverse of what happens to the men. OU trailed most of the game, falling behind by 12 at one point in the 2nd half. We hung in there and went ahead in the final minutes and closed it out. We surely needed to win this one because of the two away games we have coming up.

The only way Kennedy Tucker could knock that OSU player down would be if she had a running start and pushed her with both hands. I thought the officials were going to be penalizing flops. I guess not.

How come we have two women’s teams that are fundamentally sound, well coached, shoot the ball well and make free throws while both men’s teams are quite frankly just hard to watch? Even when they win.

I'm not sure you can compare the two. The Big XII men's BB conference is the toughest league in the country. Every game is a struggle. The Big XII women's conference is good but not as good top to bottom as the men's. That makes the top half of the women's conference look much better because they blow out more teams.

Agree that OSU is a solid and well coached team.

Our comeback in the fourth quarter, as satisfying as it was, would not have been possible if OSU had continued to drain those threes like they had done over the first three quarters. I kept thinking, "There's no way they can keep doing that." Well, I was right (thankfully). The 3's did eventually stop falling, and that's when OU's superior skills/talent took over. Maddie was, of course, the Sooners' player of the game, but so many others also made big plays down the stretch. That win was a true team effort.

True. The pukes were shooting 37.8% BTA for the season and for the OU game they shot 37.8%. So things just followed the norm after 4 quarters.

But the pukes did have 13 offensive boards good for 19 second chance points and their ace rebounder got in foul trouble and played only 5 minutes when she normally plays nearly 26 minutes. That could be a concern in Stoolwater.

We need some tall players. And by tall I don't mean 6'3" or whatever Beatrice Culleton. She shows lots of promise, and seems, for better or worse, to have taken Kiersten Johnson's spot in the rotation, Johnson is maybe two inches taller.
As the saying goes, you can't teach tall.

I couldn't agree more! Johnson could have been the answer for us this season, but for the type of player she wants to be (more of a wing), she doesn't have a good enough shot for that. She doesn't seem confident enough to assert herself down low, and Culliton is slowly adjusting to the speed of Div. I ball and starting to contribute. I suppose that's why she was rated a top 100 ESPN recruit and Johnson wasn't. I hope Johnson sticks it out, learns and works HARD in the off-season in the weight room and on the court, because she can contribute for us in the future. I hope Culliton does the same. I almost hope Scott sticks around next season so we have that experience down low if we aren't able to pick up a transfer Big, or the returnees and Allen aren't good enough to be productive. That being said, JB desperately needs to pick up a productive 6'4" transfer player, if she picks anyone up!

They're both fresmen, but the main difference right now between Johnson and Culliton is that Culliton has developed and Johnson hasn't. I'm encouraged with the way Beatrice has played recently. Hope that Johnson will soon realize that she needs to use her 6-4 frame to her advantage down low, and quit chucking up those gosh-awful 16-footers (if she gets to see the floor at all, that is).
