Re: OU vs Florida 8:30 12/21
This is a MUST WIN for our ladies. It'll be a good test going into conference play too. I say if we win, and by 10 or more that'll be a great sign, if we struggle and turn the ball over and barely win/lose I'll be very nervous going into B12 play, as all of the teams can win on any given night, IMO. We will see! I really think our freshmen Bigs developing consistent play will be key to our success down the line, that or Scott staying out of foul trouble and contributing consistently. If you look at it, this is only Scott's second fully healthy season, so last year she was essentially a freshman...I can see some improvement this year already!

Scott has turned into a beast defensively, and she's pretty good on offense too. You're right about the importance of her staying out of foul trouble. We're not nearly as stout when Liz is sitting on the bench in foul trouble.

Re: OU vs Florida 8:30 12/21
Florida is 11-1 but unranked. Lost to 11-2 FSU and beat 7-4 Miami for their two quality wins.

Re: OU vs Florida 8:30 12/21
I looked at Florida's results/roster and it appears they have some transfers, two of which have played in the B12. One is KK Deans from WVU, who we are very familiar with and vice versa. They seem to be athletic, and have height and apparently good at rebounding, so I'm sure this will be a big challenge to win, but I think we can/should win this one. It just depends on which OU team shows up!

21-9 after Q1. We struggled shooting but played really good defense and continued rebounding well.

Re: OU vs Florida 8:30 12/21
31-11 early in Q2 forces a Florida timeout. TRob with 4-5 shooting from 3 to get us the big lead.

43-23 at half. Held Florida to 25% shooting and forced 13 turnovers. Rebounding lead of 30-20. Really good half.

Smothering defense and lights out offense, a dominating game from start to finish of a 11-1 team that was clearly better than OU made them look.
Definitely fun if you’re a Sooner fan! BOOMER!

Yep. This team is skilled, deep and definitely fun to watch. Our lack of height may wind up hurting us some when we start playing Big 12 opponents twice a week, but it certainly had no noticeable effect last night against those UF trees.

Re: OU vs Florida 8:30 12/21
That was the best defense this program has played in...... a decade?
If we keep that defensive effort up, that's a game changer.

Re: OU vs Florida 8:30 12/21
This teams' run and gun approach makes it so enjoyable to watch. And they can play D when they did too.
Close to Billy Ball as we have seen at OU since the Tubbs era.

That's what I said up thread. We'll see if it holds up when we get in the Big 12 schedule.

Re: OU vs Florida 8:30 12/21
WVU's two losses were at Penn Stat and against No. 13 NCStqte (78-40) on neutral court. They do not appear to have a height advantage over us. Their forwards are 6-3 and 6-2.
They thumped our common opponent, Robert Morris, about like we did. Their scores generally run much lower than ours, but their opponents have scored quite a bit higher. So they look like a defensive team.

Re: OU vs Florida 8:30 12/21
We have started very strong in the last two games with our starting five. The dropoff when we start subbing indicates that we still have work to do on the rotations. Baranczyk may have an idea who the best 6-7-8-9 players will be but is still working with 11 players.
Still not clear to me how good we are. With Baylor and Texas seemingly having off years we could finish high but we need the defense we had against Florida, the recent rebounding and a solid rotation plan without the recent dropoff in quality play.
Most concerned about backup point. Reyna Scott has big upside but is still having too many freshman moments. Johnson and Culliton seem to be progressing. Hard to tell now which will be the backup to Scott who seems to have found a new level on defense.
Believe Joens and Van are established and solid backups.

If we could get Kelbie back that would help a lot at guard. Still no word on where or why she is?
