Re: OU vs Ole Miss 2pm 11/4
34-28 OU up at half. Both teams playing hard physical defense.
Keziah Lofton and another recruit at the game this afternoon.

A win would be helpful with her, I would think.

54-51 after 3. Going to be a tight finish.
I think the other recruit is Janiah Williams.

What in the world is wrong with Taylor the last 2 games? She’s missing what, for her, would be wide open shots!

Re: OU vs Ole Miss 2pm 11/4
69-59 win. We closed very strong in the last 4 1/2 minutes…TRob’s only 3 to give us the lead and a big transition 3 from Tot. Key stat was we outrebounded them 48-34.

Re: OU vs Ole Miss 2pm 11/4
We are witnessing the passing of the torch for the Sooners, from TRob and Maddie, to Reyna Scott(who can flat play btw) and Kiersten Johnson, also a player. Great win today, buckled down and limited turnovers and offensive rebounds. I don't mean to imply that TRob and Maddie won't be important but its a whole new generation of Sooners coming to the fore, and the future looks very very bright.

Re: OU vs Ole Miss 2pm 11/4
Maddie and Skylar and Tot have been the sustaining force in regular season play thus far. Hope Taylor and Ana pick-up their games. Want them to have a great final year.
The freshmen aren't there yet, but look forward to serving them develop.

I believe you nailed it with that observation. The freshmen greatly complement our seniors and are future stars for OU, but if the Sooner Women are to reach their potential in the Big XII and beyond, it will be because of the five players you mentioned above.

Re: OU vs Ole Miss 2pm 11/4
If you believe our potential is to finish about the same as we did last year, you speak the truth. But if we hope to exceed last year and go farther in the tournament it will be because of what the freshmen add to the table as they develop. Reyna Scott looks pretty “there yet” to my eye and shes just scratching the surface so far and combine her with the inside presence and shooting ability that Johnson brings the future may be sooner than you think.

Re: OU vs Ole Miss 2pm 11/4
I think Jennie has been playing the freshmen so much because she believes they can do more for this team than freshmen typically do for teams. It will be interesting to see how they adapt to Big XII games.

Re: OU vs Ole Miss 2pm 11/4
I agree. I think the most 'there yet' of the freshmen is Reyna. I see glimpses of Johnson here and there, but I wish she were more assertive offensively...this will come in time. I'm a little disappointed in Culliton, but I think she has potential and I hope she sticks it out, works hard and becomes a solid post for us. Don't know what to think about Cooper honestly because I haven't seen her play for than a minute, but her HS highlights were impressive.
I believe TRob needs to bench and be replaced in the starting lineup by Scott, Joens, or maybe even Vann?? Maybe if Washington gets healthy this year she can? I just think it's all mental for her and hopefully something clicks for her, maybe during the semester break and she realizes she doesn't have to prove herself, she already has. We need her and Ana to be their old selves!

Re: OU vs Ole Miss 2pm 11/4
No one on this team is averaging more than 25 minutes/game. The most is Tot at 25 mpg and she would be playing less if Kelbie were available. Madi and TRob would be playing close to 40 mpg on most other teams in the country. We have a LOT of depth, which I think Jennie loves because it lets us sub frequently and keep playing at a very very fast pace. The reserves may get slightly less minutes in conference play, but I imagine we'll stay 11-deep (12 if we get Kelbie) all season. Being a "starter" doesn't matter much for this team. For example, Vann is averaging 6 more minutes than Liz Scott.
I don't know why we don't run ANY set half-court plays to get a 3 for TRob. She didn't shoot the ball well last night, but only one of her attempts was she even remotely open. Teams rightfully face guard her and most of her attempts are off-balance quick shots when she has a split second available. Her presence does open up the perimeter for everyone else, though.

Re: OU vs Ole Miss 2pm 11/4
TRob seems more comfortable in a catch and shoot situation, not so much coming off a screen. She's been pressing for sure, but I am confident she will be there when we need her. Anyone know anything about where and why Kelbie is?
