Default Nw top recruit cut loose

Anybody know the inside story on Jordan Lathon, Northwestern's top cager recruit who was denied admission to NW?
Everybody seems very tight lipped about the circumstances.

Yep, very tight lipped. Judging by the vague statements released by both parties, it seems like a he made a mistake - as in, it's something more than just being academically ineligible.

I saw in the article from the Chicago Tribune and they said it wasn't for academic reasons.

Nothing out there that I could find about the sudden change by NW. Gotta believe there was a good reason for the school to cut ties with a kid who was destined to be their point guard next seasonó like a recruiting infraction they didnít want to deal with later? Just a thought I had.

In any event, it didnít take long for Okie State to offer him a scholarship.

You'd like to think that with all the scrutiny from the Lamont Evans arrest that if Boynton had been skirting the rules he would have cleaned up his act for the time being until the FBI stuff dies down. They had to turn over all their computers and cell phones and e-mail records to the FBI. But you never know, some guys are just dumb that way.

Glass houses fellas.... OU has a lot of history (especially in football) of taking in talented players that have been kicked off other teams or done pretty bad things while on campus.

There is no evidence the player or any of the schools recruiting him now did anything wrong.

It just seemed strange that NW would withdraw their offer for a recruit they were counting on to run their offense next season. If it wasnít academics, what else could it be? An innocent mistake during the recruiting process, which was pure speculation on my part, is the only thing that made sense to me. Since the other schools jumped on board right away, it makes even more sense to me now.
