What was he waiting for? Seems like weird timing...

He hasn't been in Norman for practices, right?

See summer thread.

Wants to play. Will find a spot he can. I mentioned this a few weeks ago.

Wish him the best. He has nice shooting touch, underrated actually. Supremely limited athleticism. Below the rim player. Good size.

Not really a D1 guy imo. Good luck Polla

He was a good teammate and fun to cheer for when he did get minutes (had a few minor highlights along the way, too). Wishing him all the best in the future.

I wish the young man all the best. When he got into the game late against Ole Miss in Round 1 of the Dance, we were all cheering him on in the stands whenever he got the ball down low...went nuts when he scored.

Does anyone know the last time OU had a year which we didn't lose a single scholarship player for any reason other than they exhausted their eligibility? I bet it hasn't happened more than twice in the past 25 years...but don't remember when it last happened at all.

You always hate when this happens... coaches make a mistake that cost the player time and experience. If I was offered by Duke my assumption would be that they thought I could play, but then I get there and learn I can't compete with these guys and they want me to ride the pine full time..

Has to be tough.

I can't pretend to know, of course, but I'd be willing to bet that Polla has no regrets. He seemed to enjoy his time in Norman, he got to hone his skills (albeit in practice, mostly) against players who are at a higher level and now, a better player for it, he'll drop down a level or two and get playing time. I'm guessing his memories of his time at OU will be positive ones.

Yeah you gotta hate it for walk-ons too. Donít get to play but also donít get the reward of a scholarship.

Duh. OU thought Polla could help but he couldnít. They needed bulk in the middle but he wasnít good enough. He seemed to be treated well, got an education for free, is allowed to leave freely. Donít know why youíd attack the coaching staff over that.

Doolittle is a four except when he’s a five. He played the three two years ago. Remarkably versatile, don’t you think?

He's not a true 5. He just plays the position better than 90% of the country.

Extremely versatile, but I hope he's not our Primary center.

He is a great kid. The coaches love him. At this level the game is a bit fast for him. He will help a smaller program.
He knew his time was up when we got the late signee.

Can't believe he is transferring because people kept saying he was improving and ready to play. Maybe the Thunder will pick him up after college.

I feel like we didn't put him in a great position to succeed. I feel like we could've coaxed more out of him. Case in point: the Texas game last year in Austin. We cannot keep our man in front of us on the perimeter in the least. Why not go zone and force a really poor shooting team to beat us from deep? Polla could've anchored the middle and offset our rebounding troubles.

But no, we man-to-manned the whole way with no adjustments and gave up a truckload of lay-ups.

Sometimes giving away five fouls isn't the end of the world.

I wish him well.
