Mizzou football did the same as OSU and they got hammered as well. I agree that fighting it tooth and nail is the way to go.

I have to admit, I still don't see oswho's punishment as a hammering. That so many view it that way seems to be evidence that the NCAA's been too lax in recent years.

I completely agree. I don’t think osu was hammered either. The NCAA has been so soft for years on the biggest cheaters while really hammering small, no name schools. If they did a better job of enforcing the rules equitably, then CBB wouldn’t be so dirty.

You're probably right; it's just that the penalty couldn't have happened at a worse time for them. With decent coaching, that looked like at least a Sweet 16 roster...but it was only going to be that way for one year. It would be like us getting Blake Griffin, then getting hit with a one-year ban, and him choosing to go somewhere else. In that context, it would be a heavy punishment.

When put into the context of the piddly punishment KU will get, it is a royal hammering.

That’s where I’m at. I think the NCAA has been ridiculously soft, this was the worst incoming class for the NCAA to bear down on teams. I just hope the NCAA is consistent with harsher punishments.

I understand that (and why) it's an especially painful punishment for aggie fans, but the factors that make it such are not, in my opinion, anything the NCAA should have considered when determining the appropriate penalties. On top of which, oswho got the hot-shot recruit by hiring his brother, which, since it's not against the rules, is also not something the NCAA should have factored in, but it certainly lessens any inclination I might have had to feel sorry for them.

I can get on board with this.

Weird decision, but I guess it doesn't matter. It's just a showcase year for him. It's not like he really cares about winning a championship or anything... If he did, he wouldn't be going to OSU in the first place.

Maybe he was afraid they'd fire his brother if he went elsewhere.

This is my guess, just looking out for his brother.

There has been a bunch of activity on social media from guys like Dickie V and Jay Biias that their penalty for their transgressions is way too extreme. It will be interesting to see if all the hype around this influences the appeal. Even Oklahoma AG Mike Hunter jumped on the pile today. And dude is an attorney and he put them on blast for their inconsistent bull**** rulings.

Both Vitale and Bilas can be awfully selective in their outrage. I wonder if they'd be as as vocal if oswho didn't have a top recruit coming to Stillwater. I seriously doubt it.

And Hunter got his undergrad degree from oswho, so unbiased he's not.

LSU is about to get hammered. Findings have Will Wade offering or organizing payments to 11 players.

Jerrell Colbert. My guess is LK won’t touch him because he took money.

if this kid is truly a lottery pick....shouldn't matter....his brother will be set for life as his "handler" when he gets drafted. Surely he can do something for a year. On top it would make osu look like dog ****, and show everyone what we know...they only hired him to get his brother.

just my 2 cents...

A high school senior won’t care about or think about that, they’ll care about their sibling.

yes and no...as I said, if this kid really is a lottery pick, like everyone is sayin...you bet well that he's been told that for a year or 2. He's fully aware of his potential income...as is everyone in his family.

If this was your son....you don't think you would have already been contacted/made aware of your son's potential? That's just ridiculous to think that...but that's your choice.

Now, maybe his brother influenced him to stay at osu for whatever reason, but because of money/job security most likely wasn't one of them.

It doesn't matter to me....just giving my 2 cents. Boomer

Maybe his brother actually wants to coach. He might not want to be a handler or money guy for care he might actually want to coach college basketball

Bingo. Cade’s nba career might only last 7-8 years, older brother could have 30+ of coaching.
