Hopefully, the addition throws the rhythm and timing off with the return of Wade. Preseason POY.

Needs to be another W at home.

KSU is a tough matchup, teams are similar. They have four very experienced and strong players with Wade, Brown, Stokes and Sneed all averaging in double figures.

Have to win home games and I think this one will be very tough. OU needs to shoot the ball well from 3 and rebound.

Doo might be able to keep scoring inside as KSU is not overly big.

Should be another grinder - OU 66 - KSU - 62.

Wade gives everyone trouble but seems especially deadly against us. We need to stop him from having a big game.

I expect Doo to get the primary assignment on him. Saw an interview yesterday in which Lon called Doo the best overall defender in the league, primarily due to his ability to guard every position. Also really praised his IQ and the way he talks on defense.

Under the weather and unable to make it tonight. Have a pair in LW5, Row 13 on the aisle. If anyone can use them, let me know and I can arrange to email.

From Eric Bailey: Doolittle's play trending upward at the perfect time for Sooners...

Quote:
He has averaged 14.7 points and eight rebounds over the past six games and hopes to carry that momentum into Wednesday’s 6 p.m. home contest against Kansas State.

“It’s great, just being able to be here for the first semester with my teammates and build a chemistry and get repetitions as well,” Doolittle said. “Being able to go to the gym when you need to is very nice. I’m glad to be back and I won’t take it for granted.”

Doolittle’s role expanded for the Sooners when Jamuni McNeace went down with an ankle injury in early December. OU needed an inside presence and the versatile forward was soon matched up with bigger players.

While that could be looked at as possibly detrimental, Doolittle used it to his advantage. His 6-foot-7, 232-pound frame and versatility allow him to use speed to get past bigger players, as well as overpower smaller defenders.

“He’s really strong. He’s like a tweener,” TCU’s Alex Robinson said after Saturday’s game. “It’s hard to find a matchup for him. For him to be that strong and for him to be able to step out 15 feet and knock down a jump shot, it’s pretty unique.”

Can anyone tell me whether the yellow coat pyschos are letting people move down this year after the first half? Or what the story is on that this year. Thinking about buying the cheap seats and moving down

I can't tell you about conference games, but I went to the Creighton game and basically had my pick of lower level seats with no harassment from event staff. My group found a spot pregame in the lower west bowl and never had to move.

That was a very small crowd, so today might be different.

A very good description.

I think Doolittle really likes this new role as well. It was like 2 or 3 games ago I remember him running backwards from a physical play in the paint and he had this huge smile sweep across his face. Not a big deal but it's something I just don't remember seeing him do a lot. He has that controlled gait of his and he normally controls his play and emotions the same way. But he's been opening up and "letting loose" offensively and defensively. No doubt in my mind that this team is better defensively in that Doo/Manek lineup.

-1 Everything was general admission before Christmas
-2 You should attend more often
-3 No problem moving down after the first 10 minutes
-4 if there is an exception to 3 it will be because of the 6:00 early tip tonight, I doubt it matters
-5 Thanks to those that attend, this team deserves more support than its getting.

Never thought I would say this, but Doolittle is fast becoming our best all around player. Itís great to see him having so much fun in his new role. I just wish his best was when Muni is on the floor too.

I agree that a lineup of Doo/Manek is better defensively, but I also think thatís our best lineup offensively. Doolittle is more effective when he has room to operate down low. So is Muni. The challenge our coaches have is to design an offensive game plan that will optimize the skills of both players. Isnít that why theyíre paid the big bucks?

Expect a physical battle down to the wire. If Wade and Mawien are on the floor at the same time we may need Muni and Doo on the floor to defend them. If not I would prefer to see Manek on Mawien. But that is based on last year and Manek is a better defender this year.

Also need to prevent Brown from driving. I assume that Calixte will get that assignment initially.

Boomer.

ALL very good...there was a reason they were pre #2 and top 15 in the nation. I suspect another tough game. Wouldn't be surprised to see us drop it, but hope we don't.

3-2 vs 2-3 is 3rd place to 8th place (or close to it...) crazy.

Wade may not be 100pct just yet! Sneed hasn't been all that great this year as well. Play defense and hopefully one of our guards goes off!

yeah. was watching their game saturday aaginst whoever it was. They were talking about Wade not having his shot back quite yet. unfortunately I can remember quite a few players finding their shot again while playing as visitors at the LNC. watching him on the floor you could tell he's a heads up player. he saw the plays coming in front of him so he knew where to go in defense, he had a few nice 2 man plays in the paint off a look, and he made some smart doubles as the game waned, so he's good and a contributor shot or no shot. It's gonna be a hard game. Saw Mewian hit outside a bit last week. I hope we're up for it. Theyve had our number lately.

My seats are in the lower level, and unlike prior years, there have been no security personnel waiting at the bottom of the stairs from upper level to ask to see my ticket to make sure I have lower level seats. That includes non conference and conference games.

Why is our offensive strategy to feed McNease?

It’s like Kruger just has a full mental block every time KSU is on the schedule.

At least we got Freeman in 2 minutes into the game. We’ve all been calling for him to get more minutes.
