Default Harmon at the Nike Summit

Finally got to watch Harmon a little. For you guys that missed it, it was on Saturday night on ESPN. He played in the Nike Hoops Summit game. He didn't start, but played quite a bit in the first half.

I was impressed. He didn't take any outside shots that I saw, so I couldn't tell if he will be able to shoot the 3. But, he is very athletic, terrific defender, and has great handles. He appears to be a very smart player. JMO, but I think he starts from day one at point guard. Love JB, but think he will need to move out to the wing to start.

I really hope the other signees are as impressive as Harmon.

Coach Kruger said on the radio it may not be defined who is the point guard. I’d be shocked if they aren’t both on the court the majority of the game.

Me too.

I’m not sure it matters who is the designated starter at the point. De’vion and JB will be interchangeable in that they can play the point or swing to the two to adapt to a variety of situations and defensive lineups. We already know Jamal is a good defender. CowboySooner is right when he said Harmon is a “terrific defender.” I think OU fans will be pleased when they see that our two floor generals lead by example on the defensive end as well as on offense.

You can play 3 point guards at a time in college ball without blinking an eye. 4 if at least one is on the bigger size and you have a legitimate rim protector.

Guards are all that matter in college basketball. Good coaches know that and recruit accordingly, and make sure their best guards are on the court at all times. Lon did it when we had our final four run.

It's funny, cowboysooner's description of Harmon is pretty much exactly how I would describe Bieniemy after a small sample size: "He didn't take any outside shots that I saw... he is very athletic, terrific defender, and has great handles. He appears to be a very smart player."

I also think they will be interchangeable and on the floor at the same time a lot -- it never hurts to have two smart ball-handlers who can defend. Now we just have to get them to SHOOT!

Theyll shoot. Dont worry. I spoke to Jamals dad. He'll be better next year. Wasnt his role this year, even though we all wanted it to be.

Jamal is so smooth.

Harmon, tough as nails. More of pentrate first kind of player but shot it well in HS. Hasnt had to score a lot for his teams to win. He had 2 other high d1 kids and several other outstanding players.

When you can throw lobs to Jalen wilson for a living... its a good life.

I would love to play 4 guards and No more lengthy project sticks that are only athletic. If only Doolittle were like 2 inches or so taller, we'd be super set up to do something next year
