Default Chargois?

I didnít get to watch the game. Saw on the box score Chargois played 9 minutes. Was he hurt or is he going to play such a limited role this year?
Heís a big strong dude.
I think heís more of a natural 4 than a 5 but heís got a solid post game, decent jumper and is a good passer.
Getting out rebounded by NW St canít be a good thing.
Perhaps EC and Tanner both will likely be needed to play together to keep big teams that rebound well from killing us on the boards Ö

He seemed fine to me. I wouldn't read too much into it...I think it's just a combination of Jalen Hill & T. Groves playing well and Moser even getting big Rick some minutes as well. J. Groves also played the 4 a bit last night too.

Some of it was surely to find a rhythm for Tanner Groves. His scoring is going to be crucial for us, so I'm sure that was at the heart of some of it.

The other part is that he wasn't very crisp defensively/rebounding-wise. Getting pushed around by the big guy and out-jumped by the slimmer 4s/5s. Screens were off -- not making good contact, not sealing to catch passes, etc.

I think you'll see more of him when we figure out how best to use him.

From the box score it appears who ever we had guarding Coleman was getting abused …

Coleman is just really good. He is torching Tulsa tonight too.

He is everything we hoped Vic Iwuakor would become.

I think Chargois’ lack of playing time was a combination of trying to get T Groves more involved in our offense and a 6’ 8” 275 giant of a man named Larry Owens.

Tanner was assigned to defend Owens because he was the closest player we had to him in size. Chargois had no chance against Owens, but I doubt if we see another player as big as him. He was an immovable space eater when he posted up inside. And, as you said, we were getting pushed around, with “Big Larry” doing most of the pushing.

i was very impressed by Coleman he is a very very good athlete and was hitting that elbow jumper .

Moser said on the post game that it surprised OU that he was taking and making that shot . (it was not something he saw on film ) and said good on that player for improving in the off season ..

From what I saw, Chargois is going to be a back up. And a very good back up, at that.

Coleman should flat out be playing in the Big 12. He would be our best big possibly and only a soph.
