Was groves the “unexpected” guy you were alluding to who may enter the portal?

Yep. No surprises here. Wasn't 100% sure what Mo would do, but we knew the other two were sticking around.

Apparently teams were coming hard after EJ. Not sure if he was the surprise guy but seems like he thought about leaving

To be like a 7th man glue guy on a better team? Or a lower level team where he could be "the guy"? I'm confused by this

like brady manek a year ago ..(and OU basketball in general) lots of OU players are thought of much higher on a national level then they are by OU fans

Give me a break. I look at team results. And I don't love what I've seen out of OU's team results the last two years. If we have all of these great, undervalued players, why are the results not up to par?

I agree with your overall point, but Brady was a four-year starter and a decent recruit coming out of high school. EJ was barely recruited and has only had a couple of good stretches in his two years in Norman. I would be shocked if any teams of UNC's caliber would view him as a key starter. I tend to agree that he would be a defense/energy bench piece on a team with aspirations of making noise in the postseason.

How about Alondes? He was on our bench and went out and proved to be the best player in the ACC.
Boulder is right, many of our fans don’t have a great eye for talent.

i am not saying that EJ is going to go be a giant star ... but he had a bunch of power 6 basketball interest to transfer and to be a starter ..

What’s amazing to me is the tampering that appears to be taking place.

Yep, there's going to need to be some guidelines put in place. Maybe something like a transfer portal window. Deadlines for players to enter the portal, a time period for coaches to contact players, and a deadline for players to pick their new school. It'll help all parties involved in recruiting, available scholarships, etc. This year-round free agency thing is a mess.

He wasnt only a talent question but also a not being in the doghouse question and lon didnt play him a lot so.. you think he cant identify talent (i wouldn't die on that hill however)?
Also again apples/oranges bc i believe that EJ got a shot this year to be the guy whereas i don't think AW did..
