I could be wrong, but it’s my understanding that all the players on the roster earn the same $50k/yr deal, possibly walk-ons as well. They also still maintain the ability to earn more money from other NIL opportunities.

You can't pay for performance. Sure, I guess that "part" of the deal could be hidden/secret, but you can't pay a kid based on starts.

Nothing about what I've read suggested many players will be getting close to $50k per year. That was listed as the top end of what might be possible. I'd see that as the amount somebody like Baker would be getting, not anybody on the basketball team. It sure as heck isn't going to be the amount every athlete in the major sports at OU gets.

That’s not the way I understand it. Every player on the football and basketball team will get $40-50k from 1oklahoma. This isnt NIL in its common form but rather a collective like the longhorn offensive line collective. Those players like baker can make more off their NIL with other companies.

Lol if the star quarterback at OU is only making $50k the program will have fallen off a steep cliff. The best OU football players will be in the 6 figures and the all timers will be in the 7 figures.

that is only the 1oklahoma collective .. .

at least 2 other groups .. are formed/being formed at OU and being part of 1oklahoma doesn't limit the other opportunities .. so yeah the star QB at OU is going to make a lot more then that (as rattler did last season)

From what I hear Thomas may be bordering on four-star status (he's reportedly a composite four-star on 247). Also, he played travel ball with Coach Moser’s son.

O-State teamed with Nike a few years back in an initiative to honor Native American traditions. Other schools like New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon State were also in on the deal. Some of the unis weren't very attractive, while others looked pretty good. It's been going on now for at least five years.
