I would have kept all 4 but Vic. Everyone else we have lost over the years were not big deals and McGusty is too much of a diva for a good team IMO

Re: Former Sooners
17 and 9 for Manek to help lead the Heels to a comeback win. Harmon had 7 in a blowout loss to BYU. Given that his desire to be the lead guard was apparently one of his reasons to look at his options after last season, it’s ironic that he mainly plays off the ball again at Oregon.

After this, I had to check the score: BYU won, 81-49. No. 12 Oregon had been favored by 4.5 points.

he has not yet but i just found this ..
23. What will be the starting five on opening night? Marvin Coleman, Mike Nuga, Bryce Hamilton, Donovan Williams, Royce Hamm. Nuga, Hamilton and Hamm are locks to start and figure to be cornerstone players. Coleman gets the nod at point guard because he brings the best blend of leadership, shooting and defense. At forward, Williams starts because Victor Iwuakor is likely out due to a shoulder injury. Expect the lineups to be fluid for the first month of the season.

Re: Former Sooners
Harmon and Oregon are REALLY struggling. They just lost at home to an awful Arizona State team. He is averaging under 9 per game and shooting under 38 percent. Manek, on the other hand, had another nice game and is averaging near career highs in points, boards, FG, and 3FG percentage.

If it doesn't work out at Oregon, he can always enter next year's draft.

Re: Former Sooners
I always thought that alondes williams deserved more minutes. Kind of crazy how much lon botched him and others.
Imagine the last couple rosters with Moser
The dude is averaging 21 ppg, 7 rpg, and 5 apg. He is killing it

Let’s not blame Lon for anything other than resurrecting a dead program from capel.
Alondes wasn’t a model citizen here.

Right? A increase in production like that from a sophomore year to a junior season is almost unprecedented. I mean, just imagine the if the guy who coached Stacey King his junior season had been coaching him his first two years.

So we aren't allowed to blame lon for anything?

nice strawman
Its not like he is just putting up decent numbers. He is putting up player of the year type numbers. Give your stars minutes and they can show what they can do.

Yes and no. Criticism of Coach Kruger isn’t off limits, but we also don’t want to ruin a good thread with a topic that could easily spiral out of control.
Williams is having the type of year no one could have predicted. A JUCO player often makes a big jump from his junior to senior season, and perhaps he is getting the coaching he wants. I wish he was still at OU, but best of luck and continued success to the young man.

Not a strawman at all.
Williams has averaged 6/7/21 his first three seasons.
King averaged 6/7/22 his first three seasons, all under Tubbs. According to your "logic," Tubbs was a bad coach King's first two seasons.
The suggestion that Williams wasn't given enough minutes to show what he could do is not backed up by facts. He averaged 19 minutes per game last year; that's five minutes more than any bench player is getting this season.
The truth is, there are many reasons why a light might come on for a player. A change of scenery, an increase in maturity, easier competition, the list goes on.

Re: Former Sooners
Wake forest has played one of the 5 worst schedules in the country. Will be interesting to see what he’s able to do when they get in conference play.

You are using one example to try and discredit my statement.
And I never said that Lon was a bad coach...he clearly isn't.
But I didn't like some of the decisions he made and I wasn't a big fan of how he managed the team...atleast how it is perceived from teh outside

The ACC currently has 1 ranked team in Duke and Wake is the only other receiving votes.
