Default OSU loses to Pitt

I realize Pitt is a good team but wasn't OSU supposed to be really good this year? Just wondering.

Well, technically it was a neutral court.

OSU is always "supposed" to be good according to some around here. Then the games start and they suck and the excuses start rolling in. Fact is Hillbilly Ford is a terrible coach whose never won anything. Worst coach in the league.

Nash had 20 points, but it took him 20 shots to get that! I thought he was supposed to be the second coming of Michael Jordan. I'm not seeing it.

Lindy's picked OSU 7th in the big 12. I think they'll finish 8th behind OU.

Only OSU fans thought OSU would be good. I agree with Boca. Ford sucks.

I dont agree that Guerrero = TMG. Maybe as far as attitude, but not ability. I saw TMG put up 38 at the LNC as a freshman.

I agree that OU fans tend to rank OSU too high. I don't think they will be good.

I toss and turn at night with guilt about the University of Oklahoma's poor non-conference schedule.

I'm interested to see how this game goes b/c of the common opponents OU has with New Mexico. New Mexico lost to Santa Clara the day before OU beat them by double digits. Also, both New Mexico and OU beat Wazu. Obviously match-ups are different, etc., but I'm interested to see the outcome of this game.

Can you give me even one good reason why OU should have scheduled a difficult non-conference schedule this season?

If you're 10-8 or greater in conference play your pre-conference schedule most likely means nothing but what if you're 9-9 or 8-10? I wouuld be surprised to see OU or OSU win 10 conference games from what I've watched so far.

This is the first year of an 18 game conference schedule so it could be interesting. I do see your point though with the pre-season expectations.

Losing games early on would have done this team and program absolutely no good at all. At the current time, we have a very good record, the players have a lot of confidence, and fan support is slowly returning. Early blowouts would have killed the momentum Kruger started in the offseason and fans would have never showed up this year.

I think OU's schedule is perfect for them this year. OU wasn't expected to be an NCAA tournament team this year, but they are playing some good ball right now and have a lot of confidence.

As far as OSU is concerned they are not very good right now. They are showing some improvement, but they have a long ways to go. They are very young right now and outside of Page they have below average basketball IQ. One thing I don't agree with is the Cezar being equal to TMG. TMG was better player on offense, but Cezar plays a lot harder on both ends of the floor than TMG ever did. I have also not heard anything negative attitude wise about Cezar.

No bad losses, one above average win. I'll take it. Virginia Tech will end up crappy as usual but we play them again at home to hopefully make it a wash. We are still in good shape even if we lose to alabama. Need to beat new mexico and vt. Only a few big 12 teams have true road wins this year.

Then you should have no problem finding some old posts. All you'll find is ab and the osu troll that was here for all of one week, the name eludes me.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it isn't as black and white as you make it seem.

If OU and OSU played today, on a neutral court, who wins? I'd say most people probably think OU is playing the better basketball right now. Considering preseason expectations, that is saying something.

Not sure you can go that far. As of now realtimerpi says osu sos ranks 76 while OU sits at 117. Thats 5th in the big 12 for OU. I'll be interested to see how things turn out outside of lloyd noble, but you can't argue what confidence can do for you and at this point OU should/does have more confidence than OSU.

Personally, I think OSU is going to looking for a new coach soon. I just don't think Travis Ford is meeting expectations. He has not been horrible but he also hasn't been particularly good. A couple more bubble or NIT seasons and I think OSU will move in a different direction. If he gets them in the top 4 in the conference, I think they will give him more time.

If they played today I would pick ou, but this may change by the time they actually play. OSU is young and seems to be getting better every game. I am interested to see where both teams will be in a month.
