Hoopsaustin, Coach has proven to be correct time and again...your comments were unnecessary.

Glad I'm not the only one that notices this.

And all from a guy that graduated from OSU. Odd.

Well said. Funny that a couple guys who never provide any inside info are complaining about one of our more reliable sources. They are probably just getting antsy because they can't wait to criticize whoever we hire.

Lol.

Iíll oblige.

My dad got sick, diabetes. Organ failure set in. I didnít want to move 2.5 hours away. So I lived with my brother and drive back and forth to college. So yeah I graduated from OSU (mainly Tulsa campus) and then SWOSU with a masters. Worked 40 hours a week at a hospital to put myself through college. Dad passed away shortly after college. I donít care where my degree is from. I wouldnít change any of it, I spent a lot more time with my father.

Never wore orange once. FYI LOL

But whatever you have against me, I donít care. you told me once you kid or grandkid or niece attended my school. Sorry you feel wronged.

Iím living rent free...

You donít bring anything to the board except bashing OU and staff.

How sad that this board has turned into a backstabbing beehive of petty bickering that accomplishes absolutely nothing worthwhile! Itís a lot easier to say something nice to someone than to look for an opportunity to get in a low blow against a poster you may not agree with.

Keep it up and this will be a lonely place someday!

Itís not as bad on this board as the womenís forum, but there are frightening similarities. Too many posters choosing sides instead of trying to get along.

Unfortunately, some things never change, Vbdad. But, assuming youíre right about this hire, as you almost always are, I think most posters will be pleased.

Question... How is the older guy Lon just hired, as far as player development? Assuming this next hire will be more of a recruiter, does OU have a coach with this strength on the staff currently? I did hear he was good at coaching defense.... It would be nice to see some of these young guys get better year after year.

Who knows. He was hired because he's one of Kruger's best friends.

Man it is truly sad how little people think of Kruger's character. Reasonable minds can differ on whether he is a great, good, mediocre, or poor coach, but I don't think anyone who has ever met the man can think of a single negative thing to say about his character. Yet on this board, people have (without any evidence, mind you) accused him of being "retired on the job" and of hiring unqualified people based on his relationships with them. In other words, people are suggesting that he is a lazy, unethical guy who just collects a hefty paycheck without actually working or trying to do what is best for the university.

That's an assumption on your part. He may well be one of Coach Kruger's best friends, but he's also a very experienced coach (quite the opposite of Kevin Kruger), so to reduce his hiring to mere nepotism insults both men.

I will go ahead and agree with skyvue here.... Its not surprising that Kruger, who has been a coach for a long time, has close friends that are also excellent coaches.

I am sure Bill Gates has friends that are excellent programmers.... George Clooney probably has friends that are great actors... etc.

I really don't like a coaching staff made up of a head coach and a bunch of shady recruiters like Pooh Williamson... Give me guys with head coaching experience who can develop talent, teach, mentor, coach basketball, etc any day.

Who do ya'll expect Kruger to be able to hire?
Who do you think would be interested in a short term assistant coaching position?
Kruger will be retiring in a couple years. Not many people are in a situation where they want to take a job they may lose in a couple years. You know, job security? It's kind of important to most people.
