Big-12 Preseason Team
Today the coaches named their choices for preseason honors.
We only had one player all the way through the honorable mention slots.
That puts us - in the league coaches minds - as finishing near the bottom of the league. I bet they are wrong.

Re: Big-12 Preseason Team
Should give Ana and maybe a freshman or two a little extra motivation!

Re: Big-12 Preseason Team
Probably about right with a legitimate shot at finishing 3rd. I don't see us finishing below 5th but stranger things have happened.

Re: Big-12 Preseason Team
One of the most perplexing statements in the articles about the preseason team was the revelation that OU has been under-rated in the preseason poll between 65 and 70 percent of the time over the past 20 years.
What has caused that?
It goes right along with the coaches leaving Llanusa off even honorable mention in the preseason all big-12 list. For heavens sake, she made honorable mention in the actual post season list last year - and many of the members of that list graduated. It is undeniable that a lot of bias is going on with some of the coaches. There is no other reasonable explanation. Now, why is that happening?

Re: Big-12 Preseason Team
I think we will finish 4th. I know TCU has recruited well and has had some success, but we may surprise some people.

Re: Big-12 Preseason Team
You may be right. Tied for 4th is the worst we have finished in at least the past 5 years.
Based on the track record of the coaches pre-season rankings we are very likely to finish higher thn 5th.
We will see.

Re: Big-12 Preseason Team
So far 5 teams have played an exhibition game as near as I can tell. BU beat Langston by 65 and UT, WVU and OSU all won by 35-ish. KU had to go to OT to get past Fort Hays State. Probably not much to be learned against inferior competition.

Re: Big-12 Preseason Team
Baylor is a big team with a lot of height but, bad spacing, if teams pack the paint and make them shoot they could struggle, they have players that can shoot, but lack confidence in doing so...
I like DeCosta, but I think she will take a minute to adjust to the speed of college basketball, she also will learn how to defend with out hand checking, she has a nice looking free throw stroke...

Re: Big-12 Preseason Team
UT beat Duquesne by 37 last night but neither Holmes or Prince played. Injured?

Re: Big-12 Preseason Team
Prince broke her leg playing for USA Basketball this summer. She had surgery to fix the fracture and is out this year. I haven’t heard anything on Holmes.

Re: Big-12 Preseason Team
Joyner Holmes injured an ankle that will keep her sidelined indefinitely.
