She had surgery after her Freshman year and was never at full speed during her sophomore year. Another surgery between her sophomore year and junior year and was worse during her junior year. Again, this past summer she had yet another surgery leaving her where she is today. It is unusual because she has never healed up with her knee. Patty knows her value so she is trying to keep her available. That being said, Grace Green is going to be great.

For the second week in a row, Oklahoma softball junior Mariah Lopez has been named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

This is the third career Big 12 weekly honor for Lopez.

A native of Saugus, Calif., Lopez threw her second career no-hitter on Saturday against Florida Atlantic. She faced just three batters above the minimum en route to the 51st no-hitter in program history.

The SEC and Pac 12 are taking some hits, as they should. Oklahoma State and Texas Tech both beat #13 Arizona State today, Tech 8-0 on run rule.

Bethune-Cookman beat Oregon, 5-3.

BYU beat Missouri 7-3.

Interesting. Actually, O-Stank beat Arizona. Oops! It was Arizona STATE! Sorry!

Anyone know why all the postponements?

It will be interesting to see who Patty starts against UCLA today. Lopez definitely appears to be her ace at this time. However Juarez threw two games against the UCLAN last year. She beat their ace Garcia 3-0 on a 3 hitter and got beat 1-2 on a 6 hitter by a walk off HR in the 8th inning with Garica winning in relief. Allowing only 2 runs in 15.2 innings may impact Patty's decision.

OU 5 BYU 0

Juarez struck out 14. Conrad struck out two in relief.

OU left nine on base. Alo was 0 for 3, left a lot on.

BYU lost 1-0 earlier in the day to Northwestern. No score for BYU.

Frustrating to see no coverage at all of this weekend's games (aside from the absurdly overpriced Flosports). These games ought to be available for Sooner fans to watch or, at the very least, listen to.

They do have the live radio broadcast for every game. There is normally a link on the twitter feed.

You can also follow the game real-time on Live Stats:
http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=256839

OU softball currently leads Cal-State Fullertin 3-0 in the 3rd inning.

FWIW, the OU baseball games on the West Coast this weekend are also not available on television.

9-1 Run-rule win

Clifton was still somewhat under the influence of the flu. But, she was 3 of 4 for two doubles, a home run, and five RBIs.

Shay was was two of three for a home run and double and two RBIs. The out was a fly against the centerfield wall.

Between them, they had 5 of OU's 8 hits and 7 of OU's 8 RBIs.

Juarez pitched to four batters. Struck them all out.

Well, heck. Sometimes they list the radio broadcast on the home page at SoonerSports.com. This weekend they had the Flosports link ($30 a month!) and Live Stats, no mention of radio. I would have enjoyed listening to yesterday's games.

Oh well, I'll know next time. Thanks to you and Soonercuda for the info.

AM 1560 Oklahoma City has very poor late afternoon and evening reception in Norman which will affect the 6 PM game this Friday against Louisiana an 6 PM game Tuesday against McNeese State. Also 11 other games later in the season.
