Crazy stuff. One of those AAU coaches arrested lives in my town. One of the top 2018 players that is on his AAU team plays against my son 2x each year.

Going to be interesting to watch.

Could be a nice board game. Kind of like Clue:

Pick the coach:
Jim Boeheim
Scott Drew
John Calipari

Method of flight:
Tunnel to Mexico
Shrimp trawler
Hot air balloon

Disguise:
Car salesman
Innocent tourist ("pardone, non parla anglais", "unhand moi, por favor", "my hovercraft is full of eels")
Woman

Destination: (no extradition to U.S.)
Vatican
Ivory Coast
North Korea

As someone mentioned earlier....this is only the beginning. We are likely going to see a few more schools involved as more of the sewer begins to back up (the truth comes out). On the bright side, maybe Cornell will win their first NCAA tournament championship.

Many basketball coaches are enablers; they know they need talent to win, so they tell their assistant coaches to go out and get that talent. They also leave the strongest hints that they are not to know the specifics in recruiting these star players.

I was listening to a radio interview with Pete Thamel and I couldn't believe what I heard - he basically said that a lot of coaches were nervous as hell because of what transpired (obviously) but that they also supposedly didn't know there was anything wrong with the arrangements that were occurring between the shoe companies/agents/players. That it was "business as usual".

If any sport needs a professional developmental league more then anything it's the NBA. Just ridiculous all around.

Lon Kruger addresses FBI investigation into corrupt NCAA recruiting

http://www.oudaily.com/sports/oklaho...a7304ed61.html

Quote:
“There’s a feeling of who’s not doing it by the rules. And yet, coaches don’t have proof, the NCAA doesn’t have proof. That’s why they can’t do what they’ve wanted to do, probably,” Kruger said. “They FBI could, apparently, but they’ve got a different hammer than the NCAA.”

. . . . .

“Things are happening and changes are going to be made,” Kruger said. “Hopefully everybody comes out of it better for it.”

It doesn't speak well for the compliance departments at their various schools. But, as one person said to me with regards to Texas compliance, "Their job isn't to make sure Texas follows the rules. Their job is to make sure Texas doesn't get caught."
