Very fortunate that TCU upset KU in the first round! KU has a lot of height, causing us to squeak by them twice. Meanwhile, we dominated TCU twice. Obviously, we still have to show up and play well and Madi’s status is still unknown, but this is a great draw to start the tournament for us.

Agreed. Something tells me this next game may be tougher than we expect. TCU is playing for Peebly.

TCU played well and I am happy for them, (and us.)
With that said, Kansas did not play well and is an example of Big 12 play this year. It seems many teams have lost games that they should not have....just played really poorly. I know that is going to happen some but this year, it seemed to happen more often. Just my impression and maybe I am wrong.

I got the same impression. I think sometimes the prep is not the right prep. Last year, for example, KSU's tall girl killed us in Manhatten. Then Jenni figured a double teaming strategy that worked and we beat them in Norman.

On the pregame radio Jennie said Madi would go out for pregame warmup and see how she feels. She has been cleared to play and she practiced yesterday. But Jennie said she would be limited today.

Down 26-23 after Q1. Madi did start and played about half of the quarter. TCU really hot shooting in Q1

We are up 39-34 at half. Better defense in Q2. Aubrey Joens leads us with 13 including 3-3 from 3.

Held on for 77-76 win. TCU played well but we struggled. Didn’t shoot well and could not stop Ibeh inside. But Vann with a big make with under 2 seconds left to win.

I always worry when I see Bryan Enterline is one of the officials but we overcame it.

I hadn't thought about it until I was listening to the postgame but this was Ana's first post-season win in her career.

Hopefully Llanusa got that game out her system. She was really bad. Only Two points with five turnovers. She’s also took a lot of bad shots. She is a great player, I bet she shakes that one off and comes out strong tomorrow.

Think it was to tie last conf game against OSU. Thought Vann threw in to Maddie then Maddie assist to Vann as she moved toward goal. ???

Right play, wrong game. It was to tie it up & send it to OT vs. KSU.

Yeah, Ibeh got only 22 points in the 2 regular season games combined and she got 24 today. Shot 36.8% from the field first two times out but shot 76.9% at the Big 12. But the frogs scored 1 less point yesterday than they did in Jan 31 when we won 101-78. The Sooners either missed to many easy shots or the frogs played much better defense as we shot significantly worse in Kansas City.

Motivation for a coach leaving. TCU put it all on the court. This is how they should have played all year. OU did find some Sooner Magic and won. Iowa St next.

We never had a big lead yesterday. But this brings up a good point. Last year, we snuck up on a lot of teams. We were much better than they expected us to be. This year, we are among the hunted. We didn't surprise anyone and for the most part, we got everyone's best game. That was something we had to adjust to and we did it pretty well for the most part.

If we get past Iowa State, I want to play Texas. I would really like to best them in the finals. Believe we have a better chance of getting a four seed if we do. Plus. I just want a chance to beat the best team.
Maybe not the best thing for a Big 12 Tournament championship but should not hurt our seed, except maybe result in lower 5th seed.

I'm not sure we will get a 4 seed no matter what. A commentator mentioned this week that the 'committee' seldom changes seedings based on the outcome of conference tournament games. I'd love for that to be wrong. That's probably why some coaches don't seem to put as much importance on the conference tournaments.
