Re: Madi Update
Ryan Aber:
#Sooners coach Jennie Baranczyk says Madi Williams' status for this weekend's Big 12 Tournament is still up in the air. Says Williams will return, just unsure how quickly she'll be able to return
Eric Bailey:
Baranczyk on Madi Williams availability: We still don't necessarily know. We've been given a few different timeframes. The next 48 hours is really crucial for us. She's doing everything she can & she wants to play but we're also keeping her future in mind for everything.

Re: Madi Update
I can see Jennie holding her out of the first game against KU/TCU regardless (hopefully we can handle that first game without her) and then re-evaluating before the semifinal on Saturday.

That makes sense. Beyond that first game, we can get through it with a victory.
After that….I’m not sure.
I do think Joens start of Maddie can’t go in games 1 and 2

Re: Madi Update
Assuming we get by KU (It won't be easy), we'll need Madi back for the most likely opponent Baylor.
I expect that Renya Scott will see more action. She had some good moments in the game in Stillwater including the 3 pointer that tied the score at 48. But she will still make freshman mistakes.

Re: Madi Update
Save Madi for the NCAAs.
OU has part of the regular season title. If we don't win the tournament so be it.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I believe we're playing for a chance to stay at home for the first two rounds of the NCAAs. If I'm right, that makes our showing in the Big 12 tourney very important.

Re: Madi Update
If she can't play 100%. I would hold her from all the games. The tournament is more important. If she is 100% then I would start someone else and then substitute her in the game if needed. Under 100%, OU doesn't need to lose her for the rest of the season.

Me too! Hold her for the NCAA if we can, absolutely.
But if it’s us and Texas that’s going to really difficult to do.
We’ve been creamed twice by them. A third loss will damage our NCAa tournament ranking.
Deciding if Williams plays may be one of Coach’s hardest decisions to make as a head basketball coach to date.

Re: Madi Update
I think it wold be a mistake to play her against Texas if there was any risk that she could hurt the knee again. I don't think we have much of a chance of beating them with or without Madi.
Baylor will be difficult to beat without her. Let's hope ISU beats Baylor. I'll bet ISU has a lot of fans in KC.

Re: Madi Update
ISU always supports both men's and women's team extremely well. Often seems like a home game for them.
