Parker is now ranked 76. Rankings caught up. I trust coaches over espn/ 24/7/ rivals. Offers get you rankings. the better the offers the higher up the list you move.

If this list proves anything, its that if you are a successful pro athlete and make your son a Jr, they are destined to follow in your footsteps. Ive noticed the same seems to apply to people with extensive criminal histories lol.

Talked to someone very familiar with the pierce kid at union. He said he a little taller than 67 ( not sure). Skilled wing that a very good but note elite shooter. Been a little soft like most young tall kids but showed some toughness this summer. Bigger schools starting to talk to him. Ou has a chance. But depending on how he develops this year we may be competing with the blue bloods.

Says everyone wants the bixby kid. Could probably go anywhere he wants. Elite shooter with unusual range.

Thanks, NAS! Thats quite a list. Im not much on rankings and the number of stars by a players name. Yet, I cant help but get excited about the three top 20 recruits OU is in on in 2023.

Its clear Porter and his staff are putting in the work to sign an impressive class next year. Time will tell if they will be successful.

More on Castillo (even though he's 2024).

After leading the Team USA U-16 Junior National Team to its 7th straight gold medal, class of 2024 guard David Castillo is one of the hottest names on the recruiting trail.

Castillo, ranked by ESPN.com as the No. 12 overall prospect in the class of 2024, called his Team USA experience ‘surreal’.

“Playing for the country is definitely a moment to remember forever, definitely special,” Castillo said. “We all could play. We all knew how to play basketball at a high level and that’s why we won gold.”

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound guard from Bartlesville (OK), is up to eight offers after picking up an offer from Oklahoma Monday, joining Illinois, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Tulsa and UNLV.

He broke down each school:

Illinois: “They love using their guards. It’s great program and I love how they play.”

Kansas State: “I love Coach Chris Lowery and how he makes me feel about the program.”

Oklahoma State: “Coach Mike Boyton and assistant coach Keiton Page keep in touch and I love their style of play.”

Texas Tech: “I love their defensive style of play and fans.”

Tulsa: “It’s my hometown. I love the entire coaching staff and plan on visiting soon.”

UNLV: “I love assistant coach Carlin Hartman and love coach Kevin Kruger and their fans.”

Oklahoma: “I love coach Porter Moser had a chance to connect with him pretty much the entire summer while playing with his son Ben Moser.”

He is also receiving interest from Gonzaga and Tennessee.

“I try to keep playing my game and dominate whenever I get the chance,” Castillo said. “I want to show the country that Oklahoma is slept on.”

Heading into his junior year, expectations are sky high for Castillo after an impressive summer.

“I think I showcased my abilities to shoot the ball at a high clip, along with my pace in the way I play and my playmaking,” Castillo said. “I’ve definitely worked on my court vision, being able to make cross court passes at a high level and I want to win state this year.”

After going from relatively unknown prospect to the nations No. 76 overall prospect, four-star shooting guard Parker Friedrichsen is eying official visits.

All I can do is keep working on my craft and hope people start to pay attention, Friedrichsen said. We have a lot of great basketball players in the state (of Oklahoma). I think the culture is improving as the great players continue to get recognized.

The 6-foot-4, 170-pound shooting guard from Bixby (OK) and the Tulsa Hawks AAU Program, took unofficial visits to Tulsa, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma over the summer with plans to take official visits to Purdue (Oct. 1-3), Iowa (Oct. 15-17) and Nebraska (Oct. 29-31).

He also picked up offers from high-major programs Illinois, Virginia Tech, and Purdue with interest from Virginia, Butler, Creighton, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Missouri, Utah, George Washington and Iowa State.

He broke down each school:

Tulsa: TU is a great smaller private school in my hometown. They play in a really good conference and have gotten a few guys to the league. Coach Frank Haith and the rest of the staff think I fit their program due to my playmaking abilities.

Oklahoma State: Im building a great relationship with coach Mike Boynton and coach Keiton Page. They have a lot of athletic guards and I feel like I can help them stretch the floor. OSU had a good season last year and Im looking forward to watching them make a run again this year.

Oklahoma: Coach Porter Moser is a proven winner because of what he did at Loyola-Chicago. He and his staff bring a lot of energy to OU and his system fits what I do best- playing in transition. I know hes ready to make a run at Oklahoma and feels I could be a contributor to their future success.

Iowa: Coach Fran McCaffery and coach Billy Taylor reach out a lot. Obviously, Iowa is a strong program in the Big Ten. They like their shooters. Im looking forward to my official visit there next month.

Nebraska: My dad grew up in Nebraska and this offer was big for my family. I have a ton of relatives that live there and the Huskers are a big deal. Coach Fred Hoiberg and his staff have a lot of experience at the next level and Im excited they believe in me.

Purdue: This will be my first official visit. Coach Matt Painter saw me play in Indy and we talk often. I also have a great relationship with coach Paul Lusk. They consistently make the NCAA tourney and that is one of my college goals.

With official visits on the horizon, Friedrichsen is looking for the right fit with the right people.

Colleges are just buildings, he said. What matters are the people on the inside. Im not concerned with high major or low major as much as just finding a place that wants me and believes in me and surrounded by guys with my same competitive mentality.

Over the summer, Friedrichsen showed off his ball-handling and leadership, earning a spot on the national radar.

I think coaches saw my skill, my patience and my leadership on the floor, he said. My overall game is evolving and Im not really known as a straight up shooter anymore.

After improving his scoring average by more than 10 points from freshman to sophomore year, Friedrichsen enters his junior year continually chasing the shadow of a former Oklahoma superstar.

Im trying to catch Trae Young numbers. He pretty much set the bar in Oklahoma and Im trying to reach it if not break it, Friedrichsen said. I just want to continue to get better.

Due to the pandemic, Friedrichsen has been enrolled in primarily online classes, giving him more flexibility to get in the gym and improve his craft.

I just love to work, he said. I cant imagine any other life than being in the gym. I have a great circle of people around me who really push me to succeed.

2023 Oklahoma high school class is pretty good. You could get those top 3 guys and it would be a great class, very rare in this state.

Anyone know how many kids on this team will be returning next years? And, then how many schollies we will have to use this year?

And it sounds like the new staff is turning over every rock and working very hard, and at least have gotten the attention of a bunch of good kids. Anyone have a feel for whether we lead on any of the 2022 kids? If so, who might they be.

I suppose until Porter has his first year under his belt, and can sell he will be successful at OU, it might be tough with the high school kids this time around. We might end up going to the portal again to fill in. I think we did OK this time, so maybe that would be alright.

Anyway, just looking for recruiting info. Thanks.

Marvin Johnson, Jordan Goldwire, and Ethan Chargois will all use their eligibility this year. You also have to assume you'll lose 1-2 in the portal. So 4, maybe 5, scholarships to fill. I bet it's half done with freshmen & half portal.

He was let back on about a month ago, honestly don't think he would've been let back on if OU had hit on any of the guys they were going for in the portal.

You may be right on that last point. I think he has been officially back for a couple months now, based on things posted on the teams social media accounts.

Jermiah Johnson is in play as well. Whole class could be Oklahoma kids. Unlikely obviously but 4 potentially there.
