You also think we were close to making the NCAA Tournament.
I explained my position. If the rest of the roster was where it needed to be, you could probably get away with Cortes as your backup pg. As is? He is a liability because the players sharing the floor with him aren't good enough to take up the slack.

Another High Point player. There's a reason GG Smith was fired. They were a talented mid-major that failed hard.

Re: MBB TBT2
TCU's Eddie Lampkin in the portal. I would love to have him. What do you guys think? Maybe a head case, I don't know. But, the kid can play from what I saw. His brother played for OU, and we are relatively local, so mom can come and watch. BTW, what point in the portal do you guys like the best. The miller kid looks awesome on tape, but he is small. Haven't seen anything on the Old Miss kid, but seems like a lot of teams want hm.

Re: MBB TBT2
Tulsa loses a kid. I think he's pretty good but I'm a homer. I might have spent some time at Tulsa Webster (not a great school these days). OU good? As a backup, sure.

Dealing with a lot. I could see him getting away from Oklahoma. Probably be good for him.

And I have ties to Daniel Webster HS as well.

I heard he was dealing with some kind of sickness but haven't followed him that closely.
He's talented. He'll help someone for sure.

Re: MBB Portal Thread 2
I can't find the discussion, but there was talk the other day about Basimile not being able to transfer again without penalty. Wonder if he can leave as a grad transfer yet?

Re: MBB TBT2
Another Tulsa/OKPREPS portal entry.
Really thought he was going to be good. I remember watching him live vs Trae (Jalen Redmond was also on that Midwest City team/Drake Stoops was on the Norman North squad). Was a really good HS player.

I can't say I know for sure but when you look him up in the OU system, it shows Bam as a Junior.

Watch the spin-game that now occurs. Wasn't anybody on this board that wasn't overly excited for him last year. And you can include me in that group as well.

Re: Mbb tpt2
As far as bigs go...
1) we're just getting started...barely on the road
2) have to see who all is leaving/staying....players AND coaches
3) more contact has probably happened but Moser prefers to try and move silently when it comes to the portal. Without talking to OU sources in the program, you're left guessing or getting minimal info (from national guys, etc)

For the record, i was NOT excited about him at all. I said something to the effect of "i am refusing to get excited about any foreign players until we ever have one thats even decent.." check my posts
But this solidifies that his was a huge recruiting blunder that likely wasted extra resources (idk maybe foreign kids have less competition and its just a matter of convincing them to come over).

Re: MBB Portal Thread 2
I thought Shroeder had a great upside. He came in injured and never got a chance to learn the system. He was excellent in Europe. I don't have much hope that Porter will be able to bring in hardly anyone our of the portal.

Re: MBB TBT2
Of course we were excited about Benny...he was being essentially hyped by NBA draft experts on ESPN and his commitment was covered as somewhat of a big deal. It's too bad he couldn't sniff the floor...whether that was due to injury, increased competition, or something else. I guess we'll find out more when we learn his next destination and then how he plays there. Wish it could have worked out like we hoped.
