Could someone please explain how this helps in recruiting?

Kids love Jordan's. It's the most iconic shoe in the world. They'll get free Jordans now.
Also it makes OU stand out a little more. There are more Jordan schools in bball, but OU will only be the third team that's Jordan in football.

Oklahoma is switching up its branding.

OU’s athletic department announced Friday it has completed working with Nike’s Graphic Identity Group to create new “official marks” as OU prepares for its move to Jordan Brand in football and men’s and women’s basketball.

I don't know if the basketball uniforms will look anything like the football ones as far as fonts and numbers go, but just in case, here's what the football ones will look like.

I can't believe they changed the helmet sticker. That's a dagger to my soul.

I was hoping the Spring Game was a one-off. Alas.....

It's not even noticeable.

Definitely not something to get worked up about

I disagree. It's the first thing I noticed when I switched over to the Spring game. Stuck out to me like a sore thumb.

I understand it's a branding issue. The helmet sticker was the only link left to the wishbone years, but I suppose they want it all to conform.

I'll never be on board with the Rough Rider unis, though. Our look is too iconic to sink down to a gimmick.

I don't think the current helmets are the same sticker as the wishbone years

The only change to the helmet sticker is the OU is thicker compared to last year.

Can't wait to see the new basketball uniforms when those come out

Bounce,

the colors have been all over the place on the football unis, but the sticker has been unchanged since the mid 70s. I'm an aesthetics freak, so stuff like that jumps out to me. The last major change to the standard uni, aside from the bring the wood bastardizations, was a switch to a thicker stripe on the pants in 2000. That also coincided with the current helmet color (metallic sparkle paint), as well as a reversion back to "Sooners" on the road jersey. We're also going to forget 1995 and Schnellenberger ever happened as well!

Re: colors. If you watch the GOTC II in Lincoln in 1987, our red is damn near eATMe Aggie red. It's amazing how dark they let it get in the mid-80s.

Regarding the sticker, the thickness first showed up on the bring the wood nonsense. They kept the standard sticker unchanged when we wore our classic unis. I've just always been very partial to it. It's the Paperclip!
