Default UCONN Games

It is finalized. Coale has scheduled games with UCONN for the next 4 years. 2017 and 2019 away and 2018 and 2020 in Oklahoma.

So we'll get killed @uconn next year, but Sherri can tell kids come here and have a chance to face/beat Uconn...

If they would just use the same bogus math they use in the softball RPI, we could play UCONN 25 times, lose all 25 - and end up in the top 10 of the RPI with a home court advantage in the tournament.

Now, that's funny.

Unfortunately, it is also true.

It could help OU with the RPI, but it they get beat by 40 points not sure if that helps in any way other than showing us all how far OU needs to go.

Well, unlike losing to Oral Roberts or North Texas, this won't kill our rpi.

I'll take the over on the 40 points.

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Wednesday the matchup of the fourth annual Hall of Fame Women’s Holiday Showcase on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. 11-time National Champions UConn will take on Oklahoma, who finished the 2016-17 season with a record of 23-10 and a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the 18th consecutive year.

“For the fourth year in a row, basketball fans will have the opportunity to see two of the best teams in the women’s game compete in the Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Holiday Showcase,” said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. “Mohegan Sun continues to be a tremendous partner and outstanding venue for the teams and fans alike. We look forward to hosting the Connecticut basketball community once again and welcome those who will be making the trip from Oklahoma.”

The game is the first of a four-year series in which Oklahoma will travel to Connecticut in 2017 and 2019, while the UConn Huskies will make the trip to the Lloyd Noble Center or Chesapeake Energy Arena in 2018 and 2020. The programs have played a total of 10 times, including the 2002 NCAA National Championship.

"The Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Holiday Showcase presents a great opportunity for passionate women's basketball fans to see two elite programs face one another in a fantastic venue,” said Oklahoma head coach Sherri Coale. “Our program has great respect for Connecticut and we look forward to the challenge."

“We are thrilled to be playing in an event sponsored by the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame for the fourth-straight season,” UConn head coach Geno Auriemma said. “Our fans in southeastern Connecticut help create a fantastic environment every time we play at Mohegan Sun Arena and we will once again need their help against a great opponent like Oklahoma.”

General public tickets will go on sale Friday, September 8 at 9 a.m. CT via all Ticketmaster outlets and the Mohegan Sun Arena box office.

Game time and time television details will be released at later date.

So 8693, tell us what SC should have said? without stepping in a steaming pile of gumby yourself.

We are 0-10 vs. UConn all-time. We have lost all 10 games by double digits, with the smallest margin of victory coming in the 2002 national championship game, which we lost 82-70.

Yes, playing UCONN helps your RPI, but I don't know why we couldn't have found someone to play that might at some point be beatable by us while at the same time having a good RPI.

This is more of Sherri kissing Geno's ass as far as I'm concerned, and frankly I'm sick of it.

Play South Carolina, or Notre Dame or someone else.

We will NEVER beat Connecticut with this coaching staff and the quality of players we currently have.

But we might get closer to other top ranked teams -- Maryland, or someone.

Geese, Louise.

The national championship will always go thru Uconn, I think there's a funny stat like no team has won a Ncaa championship without facing Uconn at lest once prior to the meeting them, so Sherri has to play them if she ever hopes to beat them...

The talent gap between UConn and OU is wide but not as much as the gap between the two coaching staffs.

Thanks for your kind words about Sherri.

I have always considered the two staffs about equal. but it is kind of you to say Sherri is a better coach than Geno.

And we all know that is what you meant so don't waste our time and yours trying to back off it. It is now written in stone.

That is one of the big problems with the women program, some believe SC is one that level..she is not, just another 350k a year coach imo

I think Sherri is much better than most $350K coaches by a mile but she needs for about $300K-$500K of her compensation be performance incentive based.
