Porter and the boys are, too. Time will tell if their hard work will pay dividends. But, if effort and volume mean anything, we’re going to be loaded with talent in the next year or two.

Not similar players at all imo. Maybe a cross between Pledger & Cade Davis.

To be fair, Austin was an elite shooter his first two years when that was his role. If this kid can shoot it like Austin did those two years, he will be one of the better shooters around.

I think people forget Reaves shot over 40% at WSU. Probably a lazy comp on my part, any 6-4ish white guard will get compared to Reaves. I'll do better

Re: 2023 prospects and offers
I don't mind recruiting some under the radar guys, but it sure seems like we're going after a lot of kids that aren't currently thought very highly of in recruiting circles.
I get recruiting good kids, program kids, and kids that fit what you want to do, but if Moser thinks he can take the same talent he had at Loyola and have success in the Big 12/SEC, AND recreate that same NCAA Tourney magic, well.....I'd rather we just recruit some more talented players.

He’s after a dozen top 150 kids.
Probably 6/8 top 50 kids. Many who have been or will be on campus.
Taking maybe the best shooter in the nation isn’t a stretch. He’s a 2023 and will be top 150 very soon.

It's just so hard to tell this early. You are correct, he won't win consistently in the Big 12/SEC with Loyola caliber players but he may be able to up his game in recruiting with OU to sell.
My goal is for OU to be a team that no one wants to play and I think his style is going to be a pain to play against on both ends. Hopefully that will sell his vision for the future to recruits.

I get what you’re saying but a final 4 run and sweet 16 with “those” kids says otherwise.
He’s a system guy but elite athletes in system will be great.

Are you speaking of the student from Bixby? If by chance that is correct what kind of ballplayer is he on defense? I mention this because Phipps was labeled as a proficient shooter, but was he a strength or a liability from a defensive angle.

He's thin but is only starting his Jr. year. He of course has to add weight. still growing.
I still think Phipps could play here. especially in this system.
