Thanks Coach. Don't know anything about Walter or Cam barnes. What can you tell us? How tall, how highly rated etc. Think we have a decent chance with any of the visitors? Thanks in advance.

Walter is a 6’ 5” 180 shooting guard. 247sports, Brandon Jenkins, calls him a scorer who is a consistent shooter from long range. He already has 18 offers.

Trae being there wasn't an accident. Wearing the Kelly jersey and being in OU's remix of the Kelly rap.
and on a weekend where you're hosting some OKpreps/Team Trae Young dudes? Purposeful

My bad Coach, wasn't directed at you. Sort of speaking in general.

Trae has shown a lot more loyalty to OU despite a lot of negatives thrown at him by OU fans for his time here.

Re: Visitors this weekend
And I remember arguments on this board siding with Brady Manek being a more impactful player at OU than Trae - because Manek was going to play 4 years in Norman. Short-sided at best. Trae loves OU and continues and will continue to pay big dividends for this program. I hope he and Porter can build a good bond, as kids from his AAU team would be a good pipeline to get started

Agreed. I couldn’t be happier with Trae’s support of OU basketball as well as other sports. In case someone reading this thread might have missed it, Trae could be seen on the sideline of the OU/Nebraska game videotaping the incredible one-handed D. J. Graham INT that put an end to the Husker’s drive with his cell phone. The announcers were happy to point that out to the television audience. Everything Trae does is big time news, and OU is often the recipient.
This was one of those times:

And, yes, I know that interception on 4th down put OU on the three yard line instead of the twenty seven, but football players don’t always think that way. Besides, that catch was so spectacular I wouldn’t be surprised to see it replayed on this year’s ESPYS.

Anyone who complains about that INT is DUMB - DB's spend hours training to catch the ball. And, if the o-line does their job and Rattler gives the ball on the 3rd down RPO instead of passing it, OU gets a first down there and the "he should have dropped it" idiots are silent.
That play will live forever and will be "free" advertising for the next 25 years.

I’ll be the bad guy. Trae earned some of those.
But I think they can go for every 18 19-20-year-old kid in college. The spotlight it’s just a lot more significant for him

And it wasn’t the mistakes. It was the lack of punishment.

What did he do that merited punishment?

Lincoln Riley did on the post game interview. I agree with you though, I though LR should've just complimented the amazing play.

I saw that and I disagree with LR and agree with Grinch, who praised the play. LR didn't go quite as far as some on the Twitter machine have gone.

Re: Visitors this weekend
On the replays show, LR defended DJ (to the extent that he needed defending). It's true we'd have been better off with him breaking up the pass rather than intercepting it, but anyone can understand why he caught it.

People can disagree with you without being DUMB.
We ultimately won, so I'm glad it happened. It was fun to watch, it will help his draft stock/reputation, and the university will undoubtedly profit off of it. Having said that, catching it instead of batting it down lowered our chances of winning. It was an incredible play, but not a smart one.
If I were DJ, I would have tried to catch it as well. If I were LR, I also would have considered challenging the catch to maximize my team's chance of winning. Pretty simple.
