Default #4 in 2018, Nalyssa Smith to Baylor

The number 4 player in the 2018 Class, Nalyssa Smith, just verbaled to Baylor. She is a 6'3" Forward from East Central in San Antonio. The Wicked Witch of Waco strikes again.

Very special player... should definitely help keep Baylor near the top half of the big 12 for the next 4 years. Baylor is still in on some really elite players.

I just keep waiting for rape fiasco to hurt their recruiting.
Just not happening.

I think Kim uses that bad-girl image of Baylor to recruit. Some of her players don't seem to fit in anywhere else. As tempted as other players might be, you just don't see them hitting with the fist, pulling hair, throwing elbows maliciously, or using some other tactics generally not approved of. But, Baylor has done all of these. Why there and not at South Carolina or Stanford or Louisville?

Baylor just got commit #2: Caitlan Bickle, 6-1 wing, Castle Shadows HS, Scottsdale, AZ. She got down to Cal/Baylor, but rejected Cal last week. Then, it took a couple of days to commit to Baylor. #28 ESPN, #77 Prospect Nation.

Baylor may be the safest campus in America at this time. They can not stand any more of the same. Hopefully, it has changed with Briles, Starr, and the AD gone. That may be the pitch Mulkey is throwing at recruits.

Still don't understand how the rape scandal doesn't hurt student as well as athletic recruiting of women to Baylor. Blame the victim.

Denial. Denial. Denial.

From what I have seen, Kim Mulkey has claimed that all of that had nothing to do with the women's program, with Baylor, or with women. Even when something was said about her program, her first response has always been, "I didn't see it." Denial. Same attitude serves different purposes: behind the scenes or on the court.

The curious thing is that people believe this, if they want to. Someone says something. You have it on YouTube. They deny they said it. You don't believe they would have the gall. They have others who believe them, despite the truth.

I think Kim recruits a "is't us against the world" type mentality. They believe her. They believe Baylor is innocent of the charges. It's an anti-Baylor conspiracy that is simply jealousy since Baylor is so good at everything. They buy into it. Sometimes, it seems that it is because they are a bit that way themselves.

Do you ever see players at other schools do what Baylor players do? Why? They have the tendency, or they let it bloom under Baylor. We're all right. The rest of them are simply jealous. We were provoked into breaking that girl's jaw or pulling that girl's hair. There are kids who can be recruited to this. They believe it from their own lives. Others wouldn't touch Baylor. Somehow, I can't imagine one of the Connecticut stars at Baylor. Can't imagine Courtney getting along with Mulkey.
