Re: Women’s team
I wonder what the record would be under Sherri?

I am not a Sherri hater. But the injury she dealt with last year was it really fair to pin on her

Last year I thought she overperformed.
But her last 4 years she was 48-67 overall and 29-43 in conference

Re: Women’s team
When it comes to Sherri Coale, I think Dick Vitale said it best when referring to a similar situation on the men’s side with former Georgia Tech HBC Bobby Cremins. He said: “Bobby Cremins became a victim of his own success”. Like Cremins, Sherri built the OU program from the ground up with no prior tradition to speak of…but at some point ran out of gas and couldn’t maintain what they built.

It asn’t just last year. Her coaching as stale, her recruiting was not going to get us better.

Re: Women’s team
Sherri was here to raise money rub shoulders with the rich at dinner parties..Do the basketball thing in her free time. As a person I'm sure she is fine, as a coach she was beyond bad the last several years...I really think KM of Baylor really got to her..Is JR Coale in the WWE or anyone what happen to him ?

Re: Women’s team
Last year I believe SC gave it her all because she knew she was on her way out and wanted to go out a winner. Unfortunately for her, they had to deal with many injuries, opt-outs, transfers, etc so they did the best they could with what they had. Her lazy recruiting hurt her about 10 years ago it seems and she could never recover afterwards. I'm glad she's gone and we have a young, fresh and exciting coach that has rejuvenated the wbb program. I believe they will rejoin the top 25 if they can beat BYU tonight, which I believe they can.

Re: Women’s team
I thought Sherri did an admirable job last year, but the two year prior to that were a disgrace to the program she built. For what we were paying her, it was robbery.

Re: Women’s team
She did have a couple of good recruiting years back when she got Dungee, Llanusa, Pellington, Robertson and Williams all in a short period of time but injuries and transfers derailed what could have been the nucleus for a good run of seasons.

That was a very exciting win. Great game for the Sooner women.

Re: Women’s team
The win over a decent Wichita State team was very impressive. OU was without several key players due to injury and Covid and they still won going away. At one point, WSU scored 14 points in a row to pull within a point, and the Sooners calmly opened the lead right back up and added to it. A great win.

Yes, it will, but this team is good enough to overcome the loss of one player. They beat a decent WSU team handily yesterday without Maddie Williams, a unanimous First Team All Big 12 selection, and without Gabby Gregory.
Taylor Robertson may be one of the best shooters I have ever seen at any level. WSU face guarded her the entire game and she still had 19 points (3 of 6 from three) and 4 rebounds. As others have said, this team is fun to watch!

It is hard for me to fathom why we are not rated in the AP or coaches top 25.

I agree!!! She is so good at getting open and is always ready to shoot. Her teammates also do a great job of getting her the ball if she has just a sliver of daylight.
