Sooners overwhelm Sacramento State, 82-53

Oklahoma rebounded from their first loss of a the season in a very impressive fashion Friday night with an 82-53 win over Sacramento State.

Playing without sophomore guard and second-leading scorer Calvin Newell for the first time this season, OU jumped out to a 21-6 lead just over six minutes into the game and never looked back leading by as many as 35 points in the second half.

Highlights

The Sooners, now 5-1 on the season, put on a show with a season-high seven dunks while also forcing 22 turnovers and recording 16 steals.

Sophomore Cameron Clark, whose windmill dunk in the first half proved to be the highlight of the game, led OU with 18 points. He also added three blocked shots and two steals.

Steven Pledger and Andrew Fitzgerald were the other two Sooners in double figures with 15 and 13 points respectively.

For the game, the Sooners shot 57.4 percent from the field and recorded an impressive 22 assists on their 31 made baskets.

OU will return to the Lloyd Center next Thursday for a tough matchup against Oral Roberts.
