* The Tulsa World’s Guerin Emig writes about the hiring of UNLV assistants Steve Henson and Lew Hill, and also recaps Tuesday’s workout. Here’s an excerpt:
Kruger revealed that UNLV assistants Steve Henson and Lew Hill had joined him at OU, and that he was in no hurry to hire a third.
“I have no idea who that will be,” Kruger said. “There’s a lot of interest in the position from talking to a lot of people. … I would imagine in 10 days or two weeks we should be able to wrap it up.”

* Emig also writes about Kruger’s lunch date with Bob Stoops, and Kruger’s thoughts on how the football program will help basketball. Here’s an excerpt:
“I love football, to start with. I’m a huge fan,” Kruger said after being introduced at Oklahoma Monday. “I love Saturday afternoons. In Florida it was a huge strength for our program. We only brought recruits in on football Saturdays because it was such a huge atmosphere and festival, much like it is here. We’ll ride those coattails anytime we possibly can.”

* The Oklahoman’s Jake Trotter has an article on OU’s first workout with Kruger, which includes quotes from Kruger and Romero Osby.
“First day with coach Kruger was real good,” said forward Romero Osby, who sat out last season after transferring from Mississippi State. “Some coaches scream and yell and that’s how they get to that player … He’s been around so many players, been around so long, he’s so mellowed out.
“I really like that.”

“It was kind of get-to-know-you, but we got into everything pretty fast. We went hard as soon as he came out,” guard Carl Blair said. “He got us running. I think that’s the style we’re going to play, run and gun, get up and down, get after people on offense on defense. We got to know each other, but we got after it pretty fast.”
