Prospect watch: Stevie Clark

While he may be young and small in stature, Stevie Clark’s game is proof of the old adage of not judging a book by its cover.

Despite being only a freshman on an upper class-heavy Douglass squad, Clark soon found himself not only in the starting lineup but also the leading scorer on the 4A state champion Trojans.

Even though he is only 5’9, Clark averaged 17 points a game, while also showing off his quick hands with three steals per game as well.

This summer, OUhoops.com has seen Clark in person on multiple ocassions, and each time he has wreaked havoc in his 15U age group. With a quick first step, he can leave players in the dust after they close out on him.

At this time, “Scooter” is self-admittedly more of a two-guard as he prefers to stretch the defense with his deep range more than running the show. While there is still a long time until he makes a college decision, it is easy to see why he is currently projected as a future high level player.

He is already getting interest from high majors and told OUHoops.com the schools that currently stand out are “Kansas, Oklahoma and Marquette.” Again though, there’s a long ways to go (three years) until he signs on the dotted line.
