It appears as Tony Crocker will play in tonight’s Big 12 matchup against Texas A&M.
The senior, who from San Antonio, Texas played just five minutes in OU’s 66-61 win after suffering an ankle injury early in the game, told The Oklahoman’s David Ubben Monday that he plans to play Tuesday night against Texas A&M (more details below). Crocker has started all 17 games for the Sooners this season and is averaging 12.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
Here are a few excerpts from this mornings’ articles updating his status.
Guard Tony Crocker also said he’s close to full speed from the ankle injury he suffered in Saturday’s game. Crocker only played 5 minutes against Missouri.
He said his ankle felt about “50 percent” Saturday. Prior to Monday’s practice he said he’d improved.
“I feel like I’m about 80 percent right now,” he said.
Oh yeah, I’ll be ready. You know, like, if you’re playing a game and you tweak your ankle or something, it hurts for awhile and you have to walk it off. But once you start playing again, and get that adrenaline stuff working, you don’t really worry about it, so I’m not really worried about it for tomorrow. I’ll just keep getting treatment and get it taped and I’ll be ready to play.
